ABOUT ME

We are Holly and Ben, an easy-going Australian couple on an adventure in Europe and South America.

Through April to October 2014, we will be spending time in Europe, enjoying the cuisine and culture, meeting new people and struggling along the road to becoming fluent in French. We’re then planning to travel around South America for a couple of months before returning to Australia in time for Christmas.

We live close to the Melbourne CBD which is a very multicultural area, but this just makes us want to experience other cultures abroad even more. Basically, we are friendly, fun-loving people who are open to new experiences, meeting new people and learning about cultures of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

The goal is simply to stress less! After all, life should just be about enjoying the current moment with people you love and doing thing you love to do. Sometimes it can be hard to remember this, but the less you worry about things that don’t really matter, the better.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We hope to surf our way through certain parts of Europe between April and October. We’re keen to know more about the everyday lives of people abroad and would hope to spend some time with our hosts in their cities.

兴趣

We both enjoy travelling, good food, wine and beer with friends, music and outdoor activities. Holly particularly enjoys graphic design and cooking, while Ben also enjoys watching and writing about sport.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Holly: Seeing ancient wonders like Angkor Wat and getting amongst nature while trekking and kayaking in northern Laos.

Ben: Melbourne has plenty of good Asian cuisine, but experiencing south-east Asian cuisine first-hand in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia was one of the simplest pleasures I’ve had in life.

We can share stories about our lives in Australia and the Australian culture, or even our experiences while travelling through Asia. We can teach you the finer points of speaking the English language and share our cooking knowledge, particularly in relation to Asian cuisine.
