About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I was almost 3 years into a round the world trip, not knowing when it would ever end, so the world decided to step in and end it for me 😄 Luckily, I got trapped in beautiful Medellin, Colombia, which I grew to love, and I now call home. My goals with traveling have always been to learn about the different ways there are to live your life and meet amazing people.

ABOUT ME

I'm a ray of sunshine.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm very much a live and let live kind of guy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am traveling full-time so I cannot host but I hope to offer up a bed again once I get back to California.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used to host when I was back at home and only recently have begun to surf. Both have been extremely positive experiences and I am thankful for this great resource for travelers.

Interests

I enjoy history, hiking, pub quizzes, card games, improving my Portuguese and Spanish, exploring cities, and being out in the sun.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a international newspaper collection that I started when I was 18 on my first backpacking trip around Europe. I had wanted to collect a souvenir from every city I was going to visit that summer, but couldn't think of anything small and light enough to not become a giant nuisance while lugging around my backpack for 3 months. I remember I was leaving London disappointed in myself that I hadn't figured out anything to get when I a found a Daily Telegraph on the seat next to me and thought, every city has a newspaper, I like newspapers, why not newspapers. So I took the frontpage of the newspaper, folded it up, put it in my backpack and have been collecting them wherever I go ever since. Many people have helped me with my collection through the years and I now have newspapers from over 115 different countries.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always up for a language exchange of English to Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can show you how to hand whistle. Or, more usefully, I can practice English with you.
