About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I hosted an exchange student for 10 months and loved the experience but don't want to make another 10-month commitment.

ABOUT ME

I am almost 65, retired. My first love are my cats. I love to cook and am an avid reader. I lived in St Louis MO until my divorce in 2010 when I moved to Dublin.

I hosted a high school exchange student from Ukraine for 10 months. Two years after she went home we still talk almost every day. I love her and her family dearly.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe we all acknowledge the same God, whether the name we use is Allah, Jehovah, or anything else. We are all welcome in God's arms; he doesn't ask if we are Christian or Jewish or Islam; black or white; gay or straight. I am a bit of a liberal anomaly in the south. I don't believe that being a Baptist or Catholic or Presbyterian entitles one to any more credits with God than any other religion. Its just a matter of finding the best way to express your faith and grow in it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently hosted my first couch-surfer. It was a positive experience and I look forward to the next time.

Interests

I belong to a book club, and am active in the local theater group, The Dublin Main Street Players. I am also on the board of the county Humane Society and am active in my church. I also belong to a private membership club for good food, fun and friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books, too many to mention. I read about 2-3 books a month (or more sometimes.) My two favorite movies are "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and "Finding Nemo." I will also watch any Planet of the Apes movie (old or new)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best thing I have ever done is having my exchange student from Ukraine. She changed my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

New to the south? I will cook local cuisine and tell you about the culture and courtesies.
