About Me

I'm animated and have a great (at least I think so!) sense of humor. I work with kids, so I'm not afraid to be ridiculous and laugh at myself. I'm constantly laughing, but I quickly shift into genuine and meaningful conversation. My passion is people, and I like digging in and getting to know and love those around me. I'm constantly striving for balance, unity, and authenticity in a culture that too often encourages identities that obsess, divide, and maintain facade.

Things I am:
teacher, student, friend, musician, believer in god, gay, ENFJ, 3w2 (enneagram), foodie, only child, independent, dynamic, gregarious, colorful... and a few negative things, too :P

Things I like:
pie, granola, driving fast, hiking, camping, birdwatching, cooking with friends, hosting people, doing nothing, board games, getting pushed out of my comfort zone by people more adventurous and spontaneous than myself.

I've spent much of my life thus far being careful, concerned, and secure, but I've recently decided to nurture the adventurer within. My first international trip last summer proved a catalyst for an intense desire to travel. I'm excited to broaden my horizons, make new friends, learn to be more outdoor-savvy (i'm already quite indoor-savvy :P), and to embrace what every moment has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is so much richer when you connect with locals and open yourself up to engaging with, contributing to, and relying on community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great time surfing and meeting people in Norway last summer during my first big trip abroad, and I look forward to connecting with more people as I continue my travels. My current living situation doesn't really allow for hosting surfers, but when that changes I look forward to hosting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited the remote farms in northern Norway where my ancestors lived. Hiked the same fjords, drank from the same streams, rested in the same meadows, and visited the same churches as the generations before me. There was something so grounding and surreal about this.

What I Can Share with Hosts

LAUGHS! I'm not the most refined cook, but I do a damn good job cleaning up and helping around the house.
