About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Grow strong, healthy roots here in Hawaii. Become an active community member wherever I end up. I would love to find a job teaching yoga in my prospective home, but I have to find the right place for me =) Currently, living on the outskirts of Honolulu is a bit too-much, as I personally find the city-life to be somewhat draining. I would love to find my home, my sanctuary, somewhere on the islands. It will just take some healthy exploring to figure it out.

Meet interesting people, see inspiring architecture, hike high hills, hear funny jokes, drink good beers, drink bad beers, live life to the fullest =)

ABOUT ME

I love meeting new characters and seeing the great big world! I have a good sense of humor, I like to have fun, and I feel like no life should be wasted by sitting behind a desk. I can hold a conversation with just about anyone, and I know that everyone in the world has at least one good story that I can pry out of them =)
I love to travel, I love nature and I would rather go on a long hike through the woods than walk through a museum.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm in love with cities I've never been to and people I've never met.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are all an interconnected (and "inner"-connected) society and we must work hard to nurture each other and keep each other alive and well! Good people will attract good people, so come my way!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few people at my hometown of Fraser, Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. I've also stayed with and met many friends through couchsurfing throughout Europe!

Interests

Love to travel!

Recently I have gotten myself quite deep into spirituality. Meditation, yoga, and mindfulness training have been a great help in maintaining a balance between my active, social, fun life and a grounded, present spirit.

Nature calls to me, and I answer each and every day! I love hikes, my goal is to go on at least 3 multi-day hikes this summer (2017). I've never climbed a 14er so that is also on my list!

Rock climbing is a new hobby of mine and I am THRILLED to have it in my life. I bought some trad gear and will hopefully be getting up a lot of walls this summer!

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE music. Philadelphia offered a great music scene for everyone. Alternative, rock, folk, metal... You name it. If it has a good sound and the members of the band truly love music, I'm into it..

Examples: Saves The Day, Taking Back Sunday, The Avett Brothers, First Aid Kit, Now Now, Tegan and Sara, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Deftones, Minus the Bear, The Joy Formidable, Gary Clark Jr, Tame Impala, Haim, The Band, The Allman Brothers...

Crazy for books, always seem to have a backpack full of them even thought I'm well out of college.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I boarded down a volcano in Nicaragua at a speed of over 60km/h.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone how to change a diaper, chug a beer, start a conversation, or dance like a white person.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I camp full time here in Colorado in the summers, and it has honestly proved itself to be the best living situation i have found throughout my travels. While I cannot offer a "secure" house or a couch or a spare bedroom or a fully stocked kitchen, what I can offer is a tour of the backroads of the most beautiful state in the country, help with setting up your tent in the most ideal spot, and tips on how to cook the perfect piece of meat over a campfire... We can go on hikes, ride bikes, climb up walls, fish, explore... you name it!
