One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam with dolphins in Greece, Mauritius, Zanzibar and Mexico, whale sharks and turtles in Tanzania and manta rays in Ecuador; spear-fished barracuda in the Atlantic; saw the Victoria Falls, swam in the Devil's pool, rafted over 5+ rated rapids on the lower Zambezi and walked with cheetahs in Zambia; saw humpback whales playing, lions tear up a kudu, a leopard eating an impala, a hyena feeding its cub, hiked in the Drakensberg and bungee jumped off the highest bungee bridge in the world in South Africa; hiked to and slept on the crater rim of a very active volcano in DRC; hiked in the oldest desert in the world, hunted with bushmen, slept in a Himba camp and visited the Skeleton Coast in Namibia; visited Chichen Itza, Ek Balam, Uxmal, Calakmul, Tonina, Palenque and Monte Alban, climbed on top of Teotihuacan's Pyramid of the Sun, swam and dove in a dozen cenotes and dove with bullsharks in Mexico; hiked to the Ciudad Perdida and through coffee/coca lands in Colombia; climbed the highest mountain in my life, Illiniza Norte (5126m) while suffering from food poisoning; crossed the Adriatic from Albania to Italy at night, on an illegal speed-boat, without a passport; crossed out of a Cote d'Ivoire in the brink of civil war, under military law, with the borders being closed, in a pirogue; did paragliding, alone, not that tandem bullshit; climbed the mountain of the ancient Greek gods and that of the modern Greek gods; hiked in Dogon country and walked the muddy streets of legendary Timbuktu in Mali; walked in the Sahara and saw the night sky over it; walked in the footsteps of Darius, Xerxes, Ataxerxes and Alexander the Great in Persepolis, as well as the Assassins at Alamut and marveled at the breathtaking mosques and palaces of Esfahan and Shiraz; walked the Abrahamic holy lands, floated on both sides of the Dead Sea and gawked at the Nabatean ruins in Petra; tracked mountain gorillas and chimps and rafted at the source of the White Nile in Uganda; crossed paths with monks, imams and shamans, traditional and modern nomads, mujaheddins, rebels, drug dealers and diamond dealers, mercenaries and child soldiers

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a few things about the Balkans, I can talk for hours about world history if you have the patience, I can convince you to visit Africa or crave for it (I know, who would have thought that there's more to Africa than Egypt and Morocco, right...) and I could tell you some things about microfinance (in case you're really dying to add some boredom to your travels).
When it comes to learning I'm pretty much open to everything. My sphere of interests is enormous and I'm happy to absorb whatever you lay out there
