About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Surviving my undergrad with most of my sanity intact.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 20 something film student living in Vancouver, BC, with a rotating cast of delightful house mates.
I love traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people. Making movies, Wolves, politics and the environment are a few particular passions of mine. Obsessively reading books and comics also has a special place in my heart. I love good cheese and breakfasts with friends.

PHILOSOPHY

"Life was meant to be awesome, Carpe Diem".
My personal favourite quote and how I try to live my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Had an awesome experience backpacking across Europe during the summer and early fall of 2008 where I was introduced to CS by Wilhelm Frömgen! He welcomed me into his home when I was lost and looking for a place to stay effectively saving my butt and showing me how awesome CS is.

Since then I have been hosted by:
Arnaud Jarai In Lille France,
the fantastic Bibby in London England,
the charming Huw Clarke in Cardiff Wales,
and the casual Artur Jablonski in Dublin Ireland.

Along the way I have met many other awesome individuals at CS socials and through friends of hosts who I would have never met otherwise! :D

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It all started when I got stuck in Aachen Germany unable to get to where I needed to go and with no place to stay. Wandering around in circles and frustrated as hell I was suddenly approached by this very nice man who asked me if I was couch surfing and looking for my host. Not knowing what the crap he was talking about I politely said no, but that I could use a hand and he gladly offered his. One thing led to another and I ended up staying the night at his place where he introduced me first hand to the awesomeness that is couchsurfing.com! What floored me the most though was just how much trust we had placed in each other as total strangers having just randomly met on the street! He had unabashedly welcomed me into his home and I had allowed myself to be taken in by this strange but very friendly German fellow, and it didn't feel wrong or weird at all!!! When I told my friends and family that story after returning home they were horrified that I had allowed myself to ever get into such a situation only seeing all the terrible ways such an encounter could have gone wrong. But for me I had never felt anything of the sort and regard that fateful encounter as one of the best experiences of my life, one that embodies everything CS stands for!

Interests

My interests are many and varied and in no particular order are: historical western martial arts, photography, movies, reading, comics, graphic novels, travelling, Anime, Manga, hiking, soccer, politics, the environment, wolves, animals in general, dogs, skiing, art, history, ancient history, human rights, humanitarianism, transhumanism, morphological freedom, therianthropy, nature... I could go on but I think you get the idea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent the best summer of my life backpacking across Europe.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have four years of experience learning and discovering Western Martial Arts, specifically Italian Rapier and longsword.

Several years of a film school undergrad and working on independent student films and web series has given me a pretty good idea around how to go about making short films and various media productions.

If your interested in learning a thing or two about sword fighting or film making or you want to work on producing some small media projects we can probably work something out.
