About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the out most of every day. It is harder than it seems, but it gives you relief and a lot of energy to pass on.

ABOUT ME

I am currently under construction. But you are welcome to look around and see what others wrote about me.

"Remember, a dead fish can float downstream, but it takes a live one to swim upstream. "
W. C. Fields

PHILOSOPHY

I love the gift of life, liberty and freedom - but your freedom ends, where the freedom of others begin. So I try to be nice to all people. I always give a second chance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I have been introduced to the idea, I grew to love it. I have met some wonderful hosts, experienced life abroad as a local. I can't wait for the time to host someone myself and pass on the great time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was in Spain in time of September fiestas and I loved it. The people, the atmosphere, sangria, summer nights, hot days full of white stone and magical Spanish Gothic architecture. Friendships that hopefully will last. My second couchsurfing were a surreal three days in Warsaw, with a Franz Ferdinand concert involved. Eclectic! My third CS Experience has connected my both great loves: love for exploring and love for Pearl Jam concerts-I have followed them through Western Europe through countries I always admired, but never before got a chance to explore on my own. My humble thanks to all my wonderful hosts - in Lille, Gent, Rotterdam, London and Prague. Such were also the days in Berlin. And the loves and friends gained in Northern Italy and elsewhere. What a journey it has been so far!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am an avid fan of a band called Pearl Jam - been to many of their concerts, met a lot of great friends through the band. Otherwise I listen to a HUGE amount of music, try to be up-to-date with the new albums and gigs wherever I am. I have always been a rock fan, but my definition of rock music is very loose. To see, what is in my playlist right now, I heartily invite you to:

I love books, especially American and English novel, postmodernism, magical realism, and a huge variety of writers from Cervantes through Mark Twain to JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Kurt Vonnegut to Salman Rushdie and Umberto Eco. There is a lot to talk about and you and I will hopefully meet somewhere in our tastes.

Movies, a lot of different movies. From comedies to art films. From Star Wars to Lars Von Trier - I love both Europeand and American cinema. I have seen almost all movies by Woody Allen and Marx Brothers ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

SEEN/HEARD
-Pearl Jam 13 times in amazing locations (Prague 2x, Vienna, Munich, Katowice, Rotterdam, Berlin 4x, Manchester, London, Gdynia) - caught Mike McCready's guitar pick countless times. Met best friends.
-seen British Sea Power playing among the dinosaurs, the Frames playing an amazing version of "Where Is My Mind" an hour after The Pixies left the stage, rocked a boat on a PPE concert in Bratislava, bounced the stage with a 21 minute improvised solo with Neil Young, have met amazing people in Slovak music community, heard the best czech poet/signer sing on a largest castle ruins in middle europe, while sun was setting under the Tatra Mountains..
- seen several of the best Shakespear's plays in The Globe

DONE - endless walks in shore of the Thames river by moonlight, being chased by Bulls in Tordessillas, jumped on trains in Poland, got lost everywhere
- Worked and lived in Southwark (London), one of the greatest places on the planet Earth.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do work as an English language teacher, but for the two of us, it's just one means of communication ;)

I could teach you some random interesting basics of a guitar, painting, or my own version of art science. My mind is an unorganized pile full of random amusing facts, some might help you some might entertain you.

I am also a very creative cook, especially on budget, and maybe you will find some of my tricks on healthy and tasty international cuisine inspiring.
