About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to contribute us, the human world. Sometimes it seems that endless curiosity occupies me. Human bodies in movement. People and patterns of connection. How we do it!
2023 Couchsurfing again: visiting Seattle.

ABOUT ME

-- I am open to couchsurfing because of meeting people.

This was maybe 2015: I am planning a trip to Cascadia starting soon, next week even. It will include BC.
Have done this about 10 years, written 2023.
In November I am spending a weekend at Menucha in the Gorge at a Subud Kedjiwaan workshop.

Travel is adventure
I've been fascinated with international relations, with the interaction of sub-cultures in this big culture that is earth. I love movies because of how much they communicate and on so many levels.

I'm happy to be alive, and a citizen of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I am open to the spiritual as real experience.. I practice with Subud and Arica and Alan Watts. I have been a friend and fan of Terence MacKenna and met Leary once. Also Stephen Gaskin and Werner Erhard. I have been going to Quaker meeting round here in Santa Monica for quite a while.
I see traditions that honor Nature and plant teachers, that see we are one.
I have participated I sweat lodges but years ago, also the Lakota pipe ceremony. All my relations.
Now I live in a big city.

May all beings be happy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Notes from before 2010:
I hosted one very tall Nederlander. And met 2 travelers, was great. I've met some others too. I hosted some groups of 4-5 20-somethings in their way to the airport (no longer that much space), and a single American woman a few times.
5 Belgian ladies = the best! And 2 French couples. etc. Then a group of 5 Germans answered my front door (I"d told them they needed to be invisible but nooo.) surprised my landlady and ended my hosting career.

I am willing to start again but only singles or pairs and carefully.

I've been to two local meetings, one a Pakistani dinner, one a big party described below.

This was be my first surfing. I stayed at the hostel, then for 3 days with a wonderful woman in Seattle. Turns out we have a lot in common. I did bodywork on her too. She's great. I'll get around to writing a comment for her profile; I promise. (Oops. Sorry)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

not much yet. I'm hoping for more. I figure it out as I go. The Dutch guy who visited was so tall I gave him my bed, and I slept in the living room.

He actually helped me with (my meager) Dutch. I lived there but almost everyone spoke English too me.

I went to a Couchsurfing party at this painter's house. He has an enormous back yard. He paints "Greek Orthodox icons". What a surprise.

I met a woman who does Theta healing, from Utah.
And an Austrian traveler. I took her to see the Functional Art gallery in StaM.

I'm happy to be here (2016)

Interests

So many reading Nature, bodywork. movement. cultures. music jazz blues electronic dance jamming drums. plants. entheogens, vision and self-improvement. Chinese medicine. film. animation, computer graphics. breathing for energy, health, vision. fun. other people.

2016- I have now had breast cancer. Life is precious. People are amazing

And did I say bodywork?.. listing:
The Rolf work= structural integration, Zen Body therapy (zentherapy), swedish massage, esalen massage, Zero Balancing sessions, Arica Vortex Points and chua k'a, ... Movement coaching, Egoscue, tai chi/qi gong inspired..
k'a, polarity, reiki, ortho-bionomy, Feldenkrais and their ATM's, movement work (somatics), qigong and taichi.. and I'm tired of listing. It's intently wonderful and the learning never stops.

ABOUT ME

2016 - October
I am planning a trip to Cascadia starting soon, even this Halloween weekend maybe, up to BC.
In November I am spending the second weekend at Menucha in the Columbia River Gorge at a Subud PNW Kedjiwaan workshop

I haven't been to a sweat lodge or a pipe in decades though. That is living in the city.

May all beings be happy!

I have been privileged to be a human being for decades and am interested in watching our human evolution as we move to all of us seeing that we are a whole and thus we are one - Humanity-One.

Music, Movies, and Books

... favorite all time movie is French Hiroshima Mon Amour -- poetry of passions in black and white.
and all the Miyuzaki films (sweet Japanese animation, always has people flying in his movies).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the Negev Desert at night when I was 17 y.o. I looked up at the sky and wondered about the cloud I saw, thinking "It's night." Then I realized I was looking at the Milky Way, our galaxy.

(I am a fan of science and Neil deGrass Tyson.)

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I do bodywork and movement coaching I could share that.
I like to explore cooking.
I teach Reiki healing work. (ask me)
I know about computers. I can crochet.
I can fix a car. Ride a bike. I can wire a plug, or fix a hole in a wall. Make hard cider. Bake bread. Set up a computer, even Linux. Calm a baby. Make peace with the world.
Politics though, I just don’t know. Be kind.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My animation and enthusiasm.

I can cook, I can take photos, I can diagnose a car (more than most), wire a plug, set up a computer, work Linux systems, am a kind of Jill of many trades, aspiring Renaissance woman.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Indonesia, Israel, Mexico, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
