"My theory is that when it comes to important subjects, there are only two ways a person can answer. Which way they choose tells you who that person is. For instance, there are only two kinds of people in the world, Beatles people and Elvis people. Now Beatles people can like Elvis and Elvis people can like the Beatles, but nobody likes them both equally. Somewhere you have to make a choice. And that choice, tells you who you are."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Any way I can give back what I received out there. Having just come home from 2 months 'on the road', I saw this incredible thing everyday, the greatness of humanity. I feel blessed and overwhelmed with gratitude and astonishment for constant lucky chance encounters with so many unique, hysterical, wildly fun, extraordinary, life altering people, both in and out of couchsurfing. I will participate by perpetuating the cycle, being part of the greatness, giving kindness for kindness, keep it movin'....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to Switzerland just to get chocolate. Going to Belgium just for the beer *and more chocolate*. Flipping a coin at the train station as a means to decide which country I'll go to.
Going wherever the cheap flights of that day will take me.
Or an incredible spontaneous stranger will take me.
Or a car full of people will take me.
Or the heads or tails will take me....
traveling solo with no destination and no flight home, following no itinerary but the last minute plans that changed to this minute plans, flying by the seat of my pants on a surreal wild ride of unbelievable madness that often felt like a decision of the insane. My instincts went into overdrive and my ability to read any country/city/transportation map in record time became savant. I crossed my fingers and breathed through episodes of anxiety because they always metamorphed into the most exhilarating high when things just became....amazing.
And the illusion of insane becomes the envy of the 'sane'.
I'm still feeling a little bionic.
My brain and life and soul will never be the same.
How lucky I feel to have seen so much, yet not nearly enough....
