ABOUT ME

I've been traveling the world since I was 20 looking for interesting people and new ideas. First, I worked a while in California to pay off some college loans, then volunteered in The Gambia for a couple years. Next, I found a cool job in Kiev with lots of travel opportunities and most recently ended up in Amsterdam with a comfortable software development position.

PHILOSOPHY

The idea really keeping me going is how exciting the human race is - how we are able to conquer nature and someday we may even understand the universe. So I do whatever I do I keep in mind how I'm leaving a lasting contribution, but of course it's a really long-term goal and keeping sane often means just trying to have a good time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to host people a couple times a month and I prefer surfers who have something in common with me. We get a few requests a day so we probably won't reply unless you mention at least some small reason why we would get along.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I learned about CS while I was living abroad in Kiev and found it a useful tool to meet some locals. Then when I was traveling for business it was a great way to pass the time in the evenings and weekends - since vacationing alone is not really my thing. But now I have a good place that I would like to share with fellow travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Really well done books, movies and shows are some of the best things in life, especially the rare well-written sci-fi authors like Gene Wolfe or George Orwell.
