About Me

COVID-vaxxed (Team Moderna) and I hope you are, too.

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the world ... and the world of craft beer. Preferably on two wheels.

ABOUT ME

I'm rarely awake before noon. I'm a beer geek and a (mostly) pescatarian food nerd. I'm pretty laid back and tend to fly by the seat of my pants a lot. I bike less often than I should and need to get back into that.

PHILOSOPHY

Read xkcd.com or asofterworld.com, and you'll have a decent idea of how I wish my brain worked. I love beauty, but value function over form.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted in Sarasota and surfed in England, Scotland, and Ireland, as well as Milwaukee.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I like sad and/or angry and literate music. Alt-country, Celtic, punk, indie, goth/industrial, and the college-rock sweethearts of the 1980s. If you like Townes Van Zandt, you've got big points in my book. My favorite movies are a Scottish film called "Orphans" and the musical "Once." Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett may be my favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam beneath the falls in the Bride's Pool, then hiked part of the Pat Sin Leng nature trail back to Tai Mei Tuk, where I ate pumpkin curry and met with a group of bus drivers on holiday.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm pretty knowledgeable about beer and animals, especially ferrets. I'm decent at fixing things. I bike everywhere and do a bit of amateur wrenching. I can lasso a dangling participle at 50 picas.
