About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live and let live.

ABOUT ME

I love to be among others and to hold interesting, intensive and controversal conversations about nearly everything. I generally don't need a lot of time to open up towards new people and if the chemistry's good I might pepper you with questions and I'll appreciate if you do the same. For me to compare notes with others is just the perfect way of learning things about their cultures, values and ways of thinking which also helps me to understand more about myself.
Of course I sometimes prefer being alone. Then I listen to music which easily brings me to daydream :) If I manage to wake up again, I'm likely to spend my time reading novels but also nonfiction books or newspaper and magazine articles.

PHILOSOPHY

Be the change you want to see in the worldMahatma GandhiIt's not about class, colour or races, let's get around and see different places, put a smile on those distant faces, wipe away your sorrow with no traces.Gentleman

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been hosting a number of people at my place. I did a CS-trip through Belgium and Luxemburg in summer 2011 and another one along the American Eastcoast in Spring 2012 - happy times with great acquaintances. Besides that I use to talk with my friends about the project and past experiences - of course also to those who don't participate yet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My very first CS experience was with George and David (US) in Heidelberg. During my Erasmus semester in Leuven I hosted Karina and Ingvaras (Lithuania), Ábel (Hungary), Han Gyul and Hye Yeon (South Korea), Kazım (Turkey) and Janneke (Netherlands). Back in Heidelberg Mayela (Mexico), Solvi (Germany), Jody (Hongkong), Clare (UK), Nicky (Switzerland), Krum (Bulgaria) and Jasper (Germany) stayed at my place. In Mannheim, Michael (Canada) was my guest.Furthermore I was hosted in Belgium by Morgane in Antwerp, by Erna and Rik in Kortrijk and by Brit and Bert in Ghent. In Luxemburg I stayed with Urs. In the US I was hosted by David in Washington DC, by Rich in Philadelphia and by Yonah in New York. I never had any bad experience with Couchsurfers and I guess that I have learned something uselful from every encounter.

Interests

I'm a curious person and there are few things that I'm not interested in therefore the list will definitely be incomplete. But some very important domains:Languages. Cooking. Concerts and simply dancing to music that I love. Literature. Psychology. Photography. Philosophy. Human History. Flea Markets and Second Hand Shops. Traveling - of course. Exploring Nature. Yoga. Discovering cafés in Berlin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

...to spend one night in the desert in a sleeping bag watching the firmament.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always happy to practice the foreign languages I speak with someone or to learn few words or even sentences in a new language. If you're interested in my mother tongue German, I'll be glad to give you small lessons. I can also show you how to cook typical dishes from Southern Germany the way I learned it from my grandmother :).
And I'm willing to bring people in contact who maybe can help each other or exchange useful information because this is what brings us all closer together.
