About Me

CURRENT MISSION

experience this beautiful planet and discover more about the diverse individuals on it

ABOUT ME

I work as a teacher now so that I can help the next generation. I choose to work with under-privileged students for a variety of reasons, but most to help them see there are choices and opportunities. Before teaching, I worked in Marketing (ugh!)for several years. As much as I love my job, living life and traveling, a passion of mine, are my first priorities. I have traveled through most of the Eastern US and a small bit outside the US. I hope to expand the stamps in my passport greatly over the next few years. When I travel, I enjoy meeting and talking with the locals and learning more about their home area. I look forward to the opportunities couch surfing will bring.

I aim to see the positive. I think laughing and sharing with others is still one of the best things in life. I like to be around people who are great at enjoying life, being relaxed, and having fun. I take certain important issues seriously, but am a very laid-back, relaxed person overall. One motto of mine is to not complaining about something unless you are gonna do something about it. This has lead me to being involved it different causes over the years. I am a very caring, patient, generous person - these are as natural to me as drinking water. Also, I'm like a child when it comes to learning and exploring- I find everything fascinating!

PHILOSOPHY

I'm still working this one out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

By interacting with others locally and being open to new encounters as a host and traveler. I share the couching surfing concept with others, even strangers, who seem to have a bit of the bohemian traveler in them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have visited some in the US and overseas. Since finding CS, whenever I travel outside the US, I make it a point to connect with the couch surfers there. I try to join up with the local group when I can, but life as a teacher can be a busy one, especially when one is involved in other things. I had a blast taking a multi-day trip exploring the great Ocean Road in Oz with 2 CS ladies who were strangers in the beginning and friends at the end.

Meet Joe Black
Monty Python
Red Dwarf
WALL-E
Old 50's movies
80's and 90's type comedies ex:slapstick, physical, off-the -wall (Ghostbusters is still great!)
Any musical/dance movie - step it up, etc

TV shows:
bones
Vampire Diaries
Buffy/Angel - they were just so cheesy!!
Forever Knight
Highlander (the movies stink!)

Sooner or later I will get up the nerve to skydive! (I have a heights phobia, but I'm working on it)
