About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To tap into something kinetic and let it resonate

ABOUT ME

Thought i'd better update this profile a little at this stage.

First off I haven't been able to explore couchsurfing in some of the ways i'd like due to a situation with a family members health which has been ongoing for the past two years...and for me - family come before anything else - but i do hope to get involved a little more actively over the next while so i'm sure i meet some of you along the road!!
Below are the details i filled in when i first joined CS i'll update at some point but i think it still paints an accurate picture of me...so read on if you haven't fallen asleep already and as i said i do genuinely hope to catch up with some of you along the way ;-)

Well i'll have to add to this as i go along as i'm about to run out of time in this internet cafe...but briefly:
Born and raised in Dublin, most of my time has been spent working on different creative and artistic projects from oil paintings to theatre and from songwriting to travel writing...I've travelled and worked in a few different countries doing everything from Bar-work in France to teaching English in an academy in Spain to working at a carnival and drive through dry cleaners in Australia not to mention the odd office job...never long stints i should add...

I pretty much just go where the winds take me when i get the chance and like/need to create and complete something unique in life.

Will most likely have a sporadic relationship with couchsurfing as i still prefer the spontaneity of arriving somewhere and seeing who i meet and what happens off my own bat and leaving it up to fate a little. There's just something about experiencing things with absolutely no certainty which is inate to feeling alive.

PHILOSOPHY

Ronnie Drew (from The Dubliners)said he heard this saying in Spain and it's perfect 'God says...Take what you want but pay for it!'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've opened a project i'm working to couchsurfers (though it's definitely not exclusively a couchsurfing project)I'm also planning (if i get the time) to do one or two specifically couchsurfing projects.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have slept on a few couches but not through couchsurfing yet.

Interests

Movies (particularly independent movies these days), Music (this would be a long list), Art (love Roderic O Conner at moment), Travel (which i'm currently indulging in), Sleeping (planning on doing this very soon), Reading ('Ginger man' a current favourite), Food especially Spanish, Random occurances and intriguing people (usually to be found on long train journeys or similar out of time situations, hitting a good pub or restaurant and of course a huge passion and interest for me is my own city and country Dublin and Ireland.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've jumped out of tiny planes over beautiful pristine lakes and snow-peaked mountains, jumped off platforms suspended over deep ravines with bungy rope being the only thing between me and a puddle on the ground, watched sunlight pour its diminishing red self over craggy awesome mountains and drank tea on plateaus in South East Asian jungles and of course i've met some strange and incredible people...and a fair few talented ones too ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to share any creative skills i can...always.

And when it comes to Dublin...it's genuinely my pleasure to help you get an real experience and understanding of my gorgeous city.
