ABOUT ME

I am white but Taiwanese. I really like to travel but havn't done enough of it, hopefully participating in couchsurfers will help! I hope to start doing a LOT more traveling with the discovery of CS. I'm easy going and very easy to get along with. I'm interested in all different cultures and like to learn about the political situations and histories of different regions. I also like trying different foods and seeing beautiful scenery and historical sights.

PHILOSOPHY

Be excellent to each other. I actually have a personal philosophy on individual and global politics that I've never taking the time to organize and write out, but when I do I'll promise it will make a good book and maybe change the world, who knows. But everything I believe can basically stem from two core values: 1)Ethnicity (physical attributes past down to us by ancestors), Citizenship (a legal affiliation to a political body. I believe using the word "nationality" here is gross misuse of its original meaning), and Identity/Nationality (to a culture, political body, etc.) should be recognized as three separate concepts, and 2)People should be free to do as they will as long as it does not restrict the freedom of others.

While my living situation right now is not the most convenient for hosting, I will do what I can, and definitely host more actively when I am living somewhere other than the dorms.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I havn't hosted anyone yet, but on my last trip around Taiwan I had the pleasure of surfing two couches and it was a very good experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know I've had several of these moments but I can never think of them right off hand. Once when I was riding bikes in the mountains of central Taiwan we lost track of the time and it got pitch dark on us, so dark you could not see the road. Then all of the sudden neon green dots start appearing everywhere. They were fireflies, and there were literally billions of them, but they were only on the foliage on the two sides of the road. So the sides of the road appeared as blanket of dancing green lights, while the road was black. So guided by the fireflies we sped down the steep mountain roads for several kilometers down to the village below. I very surreal experience.
