About Me

ABOUT ME

Please read my profile and do not copy and paste. Couchsurfing is a cultural exchange, not just a free place to stay.

I have visited 52 different countries and want to see so much more! I have backpacked around the globe.

I love meeting new people and I am always down with trying new and exciting things. Im easy-going, kind, genuine and spontaneous, I often take trips with no planning and just wing it. I love hockey, music, travel and aviation.

PHILOSOPHY

I Work to live and not live to work. You only get one life and it could end tomorrow so make the best of it and take it one day at a time. My father passed away before he got to enjoy his retirement so I refuse to wait on my dreams. There is no time like the present.
I am very open minded but I was raised with old fashioned values. I am an agnostic conservitive which means I believe in individual freedom as long as it does not step on the rights of others and individual responsibility.
I do not judge people regardless of their views and I expect the same courtesy. If we were all the same, the world would be a quite boring place. 💁‍♂️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It is not always the awe inspiring sightseeing, history or food of a place that makes a it memorable, but its the people we meet that make it special! I try my best to make people get that feeling from hosting or surfing with me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed and went to meetups all over the US, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, and Norway. I have also hosted on and off at home in Pittsburgh. Admittedly it's time consuming and frustrating to find hosts as a single male traveler but I do it when I can.

Interests

I love travel, sports, music, outdoor adventures, eating new foods, old architecture, Hockey, Baseball and aviation.
I am very interested in cultures of Eastern Europe especially Russia.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to watch History or comedy movies and many others depending on my mood.
Movies: My favorite movie is Fight Club. Others are The Shawshank Redemption, Hangover, Transformers, 12 Monkeys, Miracle, Major League, Oceans 11, American History X, Full Metal Jacket, The Fast and Furious Series, Gone in 60 Seconds, Eurotrip, and The Green Mile just to name a few...
Music: I like mostly 90's Hip Hop and Alternative Rock, and 00's Nu Metal and some EDM so I am rather eclectic...
My life's soundtrack includes Johnny Cash, Deftones, Linkin Park, Pearl Jam, Breaking Benjamin, MGMT, Weezer, Social Distortion, Chevelle, Foo Fighters, Tool, Mudvayne, Jay Z, 2Pac, The Notorius BIG, Scarface, Snoop, Eazy E, Too Short, Tim Mcgraw, Toby Keith, Foster the people, Phoenix, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Three 6 Mafia, Atmosphere, Avicci, Cold Play and so many more!
I am not much of a reader but I enjoy Shakespeare and history. I read a lot about travel destinations, aviation and AV literature. I like learning new things

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I watched my favorite team, the Pittsburgh Penguins win their 4th Stanley cup in San Jose in 2016 and I got to meet the whole team in Finland prior to the season of them winning their third in 2009.
I went Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany! From what I can remember it was Awesome! The 2007 NHL Winter Classic in Buffalo! The Atmosphere at that game was unmatched. 70,000 hockey fans crammed into a stadium is a thing of beauty. Skydiving! I jumped off of a bridge in Ecuador. Spur of the moment but Awesome! Bungee jumped the Nevis in New Zealand. I hiked for 5 days to Machu Picchu, Flew over the Nazca Lines, visited the Salt Flats in Bolivia. I visited the beautiful nature of Galapagos Islands, and the intriguing Moi's of Easter Island! I trekked to and stood on a Glacier in the Tores Del Paine National park of Chile.

I have also watched the Pittsburgh Penguins play games in 34 different cities, 4 countries, 4 Football Stadiums, and 44 arenas.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am formerly an Electrician and very good with technology. If you have any problems don't hesitate to ask.
I would love to learn how to speak Russian and Spanish. I have lived in Pittsburgh all of my life. I love it here. It is a great place to be born, live and retire, but the rest of the world needs to be explored too! I love exploring new things as well as revisiting old ones!
