ABOUT ME

I am a geeky nerdy scientist.

And although I'm a relic from the mid 70s, I am a very 1980s kinda guy!!!! Love music and movies from 1980s!!!!!!

Am kinda archaic in a few ways, kinda have the same spirit and vigour like they had in 80s!

I like to think i have class and charm but I am absolutely tactless and really inappropriate. ha! My undergrad education was more in the commerce and finance and management field but gradually I drifted to the sciences(computer science, then mathematics and then to medicine!)...

I love playing tennis - a LOT! and I like to keep myself very fit, I play most sports and I do a lot of running, hiking, gym, etc. I love and am energy filled for every activity. I love films and movies or even sitting home to play chess and drink tea when it's raining cats and dogs outside.

I try to hold a conversation well with people from many different cultures and with different interests with enthusiasm and willingness to learn and understand.

I am a fan of wildlife and nature. I wanted to be a naturalist and environmentalist as a kid. :) well, medicine and biology is pretty close to that!

I enjoy the company of those who are open-minded;

I shall soon write more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to provide a couch for those needy souls in dire need of accommodation when there isn't a good solution available and hotels are overpriced. I try to be as helpful as I can and do my bit for the CS community and it's imperative that we all co-operate and help each other out. I have a special soft heart for those volunteering on missions to Africa or with UN or for environmentalist/conservation or wildlife or anti-HIV projects.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couch surfed yet; but I have given/offered my couch to people who needed it either on this website or, as in last 13 years, not through this site, but simply through networking and my huge link of friends!!!

It's been a great experience knowing people from all cultures and from all different backgrounds, interests and fields of academia.

Interests

I am a very 80s guy!!!!! Love movies and music of the 80s!!!

Tennis; Wildlife; Trekking, hiking, trailing, biking, etc. I love going to gym keeping myself fit by body and by mind; Love foreign and indy films; I care about causes like environment and wildlife conservation; Anti-hiv causes; Research in medicine in genetics(epigenetics, genomic imprinting, reprogramming, methylation etc) and evolving therapies and molecular research against HIV; Love partying! Costume parties and halloween are my favorite! I get along fabulously with gays and lesbians. I am a little less happy dealing with prejudiced fanatics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Saw the vastness of the pacific ocean from the edge of a very very high, steep cliff off San Francisco, california. I was in awe. :)

Saw roger federer win grandslams live, in flesh, and then met him afterwards (again and again!)...

Witnessed crimson sunsets in to the ocean in Mumbai and San Francisco.
