About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep an eye on things in this world so I don't get blindsided. Travel and see beautiful towns and wilderness.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy bicycling for transportation, and hiking for recreation. I follow and enjoy talking politics from time to time. I hike for recreation - in the parks of the Bay Area or on the San Francisco hills.
I'm honest, reliable considerate, don't use drugs or smoke cigs, have a glass of beer or wine on occasion.
I don't have TV so If there's a show I want to see, I try to get it online.
I enjoy travelling, whether near or far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting started with Couching around. I'd like to try hosting a CS potluck in my area when I return from my trip. I'll also be open to hosting now and then during then next few months.

Interests

The material things I'm interested in are mostly related to my artistic endeavors or my bicycle transportation needs.
I follow national and world politics and am kind of addicted to radio news. My musical tastes are eclectic - I once had a large record/CD collection after working as a buyer at a used book and record store for three-and-a-half years. Some years I paint and draw. Some years, I knit, crochet and make other crafts. My home is my studio. Sharing meals, passionate discussions, comic relief, music, dancing, improv classes, watching and then discussing good movies with friends, are things that make me happy. For fitness, I hike, ride bike and eat healthy.
Two movies I liked a lot are "V for Vendetta" and "Bad Santa". One of my favorite book series is Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials." From time to time I've worked on political endeavors. The last audiobook I enjoyed was "Shibumi" by Trevanian. When I have time, I read the odd New Yorker article.
