ABOUT ME

I run with scissors.
I'll try anything twice.
I'd rather read someone's blog than read the news.
I bike all winter as a matter of principle.
I consider a week lost if I have not danced at least once.
I feel compelled to build something with my hands every single day.
I would rather believe in mermaids, fairies and the loch ness monster, than choose to believe we fully understand the world.
I believe strongly in packing light, and yet always seem to make room for too many books.
I believe we all have more influence in making our world a better place than we think.
I believe the most free person is someone who has nothing to prove.

I'd rather get lost sometimes than know the way.
I daily choose to replace fear with curiosity.
I would prefer to be notorious than live safely.
I would rather die from longing then live in boredom.

I am a searcher.
I am not unhappy, but neither am I really content.
I will always seek to explore this life, I want to know its ultimate secret.
I am ambitious only for life itself.
I want to live in a world that does not impede my wandering, or stop my search, and that will take me for what I have to give.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been super active in the community that is couchsurfing.com. Friends from all over tend to recommend their friends to me in person, so I almost never have an available couch to offer! But I personally think that there is no better way to make a better world than by individually making people happy, and creating a need to love each other.
In my own community doors are never closed, visitors always have a place to sleep, and food is always abundant and communal. What joy I had when I discovered that people all across the world felt the same way!

People, food, laughter, music, art, festivals, dancing, trees, books, smiling, exploring off the beaten track, the moon, the sun, driving bobcats (and other cool big machines), building stuff, good conversations while mildly drunk around a campfire, hiking in the mountains, the ocean, that crisp feeling in the morning in a Canadian fall, dressing up in cool costumes, giving presents, getting a rare real smile from a stranger...

I am really interested in learning about sustainable construction and community building.
I am a full time artist who focuses on performance and installation art that deals with all those types of taboo subjects like sexuality, ritual and religion. I have no issues talking your ear off about that.
I obsessively try to learn everything I can about different building, landscaping, refinishing and construction, and can skill share and teach everything I know thus far.
