Live a life worth living.
I love traveling, and while I love being alone I also enjoy meeting people, especially creative and kind people. I've yet to find a place or culture I haven't absolutely fallen in love with.

Otherwise, I am an artist (visual arts mostly), my background is in computational mathematics and sometimes I work as a software engineer, most recently at the nytimes ... but I quit recently so that I can focus on art and travel. This time focusing on art projects and languages (trying to learn traditional Chinese writing, 書法).

I focus on art while I travel -- photography and animated painting -- meeting local artists and learning about different styles and artistic cultures all over the world.

Whenever I'm asked where I'm going, I usually think, "I can go anywhere"

But the trick is: go somewhere, go anywhere; more than just realize that you can, but actually do it -- freedom is not an awareness of a possibility, it's seizing life and experiencing the actuality.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Wander, wander, wanderlust -- I absolutely love the philosophical spirit of couchsurfing. I know that it jumped the shark years ago, but I met so many wonderful friends here that I like to keep the profile around.

I love couchsurfing because I can meet amazing people; and because we can share amazing stories and even more amazing experiences.

When I'm settled in one place I'm happy to host like-minded guests -- quiet and relaxing guests, respectful and open to learn about peaceful ways of living and learning together.

I love art, in particular drawing, painting, photography-- I blend styles with digital painting and photography. Lately I've been experimenting with animation techniques in what I've been calling "animated paintings", a technique that's become more and more pronounced in my artwork.

I've traveled extensively and done all those silly things we're supposed to do in life (in terms of career, money, dating, etc). I ran out of things to prove long ago and being neither wiser nor happier from those experiences I let it all go and now focus my energy on love, travel, art, learning, and all that makes life worth living.

What I Can Share with Hosts

No to-do list haunting your sleep

Life is fundamentally simple, the complexities of existence can be uncovered when we look beyond our own imagined complexities

If you're looking for purpose, the purpose of life is to live; follow your heart, follow your bliss, just be--

when there is no goal there is a spontaneous and uninhibited energy, an emergent freedom of being and the continuous discovery of life in each moment

--and in that awareness life is transformed into a joyous innocence of being.
