About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Stay afloat and advance in life while taking time to see the world

ABOUT ME

Taking steps to further a career in healthcare. I like the traveler mentality, along with its sense of adventure and openness. I am having to slow down on my travels some as I am trying to build up my educational and financial base; can't play Peter Pan forever.
Urbane and cosmopolitan. Left-of-center political leanings. Supportive of U.S. Armed Forces.
I am a yuppie, tech-savvy Gen-X millenial, that is adept in urban and agricultural/rural settings.

PHILOSOPHY

Pura vida. Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had two rewarding and enriching couchSurfing experiences while on vacation in Australia. I still communicate with those that I met in Australia. Also had a great experience in Vienna, to include its music festival and a bike ride through the hills. Also a pleasant experience in Budapest, and grateful for the help with the taxis and trains. Super great hosts in Tampa that housed me and showed me around.

Interests

mountain biking, rockclimbing, rowing, swimming. Wanting to get more involved in such things as windsurfing, sailing, and surfing. Expert at chess. International relations, Latin American studies, Economics, Life Sciences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I especially like science fiction and fantasy, and the occasional mystery novel. Some thought-provoking social-science books.
Humorous biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba-dived the Great Barrier reef of Australia.
Surfed the waves of Australia. Been through the rain forests of Costa Rica. Survived the combat chaos of Iraq for two years. Seen great landscapes in places such as Colorado, New Mexico, Switzerland, the Balkans, just to name a few.
