ABOUT ME

Fun, silly and adventurous; fairly extroverted and very social. I love partying in both the big city and in the backwoods. I try to say yes at most opportunities and to get out of town often. I love to laugh, often at myself, and tend to be a little awkward at times. To me, the best part about being human is the roller coaster. That includes appreciation of all of the emotions, all of the people and most importantly, personal growth.

My boyfriend Marc Newlin is all of the above as well, but is way more scientifically/ technologically minded than I. My specialty is in social sciences, while his are hard sciences (though he's generally very knowledgable about everything). He is an ambitious and dedicated software engineer and security researcher for Bastille Networks, who is really starting to make a name for himself within the industry. Ask later and I'll happily brag for a half an hour at least, on behalf of him (in the meantime, Google "Mousejack" -- that's his most recent work) :P

We have been dating for over four years and have been in all kinds of situations in all kinds of places together and are very much on the same page about mostly anything. We're both busy with our individual aspirations and yet we find time to have a blast together making great memories by holding hands, jumping off into the deep end, and going wild. Instead of one of us pulling the other in one direction, both of us pull each other in all the possible directions. We work well together as a team and our large network of interesting and brilliant characters shows it.

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard; play hard.

Some people spend lots of money on big TVs and incredible high tech gadgets and nice furniture, but never leave their homes, save for the occasional packaged vacation, never really experiencing anything new. My priorities lie in new experiences that teach.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A bombardment of shit went down in my life recently and I ghosted out of/ took a break from CS but I'm back now :) Sort of, I mean, we've got a ton of travel coming up so we won't be able to host for most of the summer.
We've met loads of incredible and interesting people, making amazing memories through both hosting and couchsurfing ourselves.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted several couchsurfers and have had a blast doing so. Great new friendships and memories have been made.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Traveled to Ireland to bury a late friend's zippo lighter in the Blarney Castle (as he wished before his passing).

First rave was in a squatted warehouse in Amsterdam during my first CS experience.

Epic nerf gun fight in the presidential suite of the Westin in San Diego with a bunch of brilliant nerds.

I live my life by three things:
1) "Why not?"- If I cannot think of a reason "why not", then I will likely just do it.
2) "Pay it forward"- Because it's just the good thing to do. Do good for the sake of doing good.
3) "Work hard. Play hard."- All out balls to the wall.
