ABOUT ME

More or less a typical American liberal who is part hippie and part yuppie. I live for travel and work.

PHILOSOPHY

My outlook is the cynicism of a fallen idealist. I've always been sort of confused, so I tend to see life as "a journey of discovery" (the phrase Sarah Palin used to mock Barack Obama).

Just joined...... I have a "couch" that is actually a spoon chair and beanbag (need to get a real one!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed in Mexico City for a week and everyone I met through CS was laid back and friendly (well, not all of them were laid back :-). A great experience.

Centres d'intérêt

I first traveled to London and Rome when I was 20 and have been hooked ever since.

I studied physics in school and try to follow it. To me there is nothing more interesting than discovering things about how the physical world operates.

I love poetry, especially Shakespeare's sonnets, Dante's Commedia, anything by Poe, Keats, Schiller. Shakespeare brings back memories of traveling on the bus through Europe lost in my own world.

Currently reading "A Legacy of Ashes" (history of the CIA) which is very interesting (in a horrifying way). Movies..... feh, I'd rather watch Lost, Mad Men, Weeds, and Entourage.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Spending a month traveling across Italy... studying for a year in Goettingen... seeing a live NBA game... dropping out of school to join in crazy political activism (no, I mean literally crazy)

I can teach you basic guitar. I can explain all the terrifying details of US politics. Or I can show you random hilarious things on the internets that you probably already know about.
