ABOUT ME

I love couchsurfing! I was just living in Peru for a year and working with a NGO doing nutrition research studies and as a professor teaching nutrition online. Now back in NYC. I have traveled some around Central and South America, the Middle East and Europe and am looking forward to many more travels! I LOVE to dance and to eat cuisine from around the world. The simplest things in life are the most pleasing to me.

PHILOSOPHY

My passion in life is learning, and I am constantly fascinated by the wonderful insights people around the world have to share. Too little time and too many places to explore!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I have couchsurfed in Budapest and Madrid, in a few cities in Brazil and in the U.S. and was hosting in Lima. When I make contact with other travelers who participate in couchsurfing, I make a point to leave a recommendation on their profiles in order to help other travelers make their couchsurfing decisions.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a great couchsurfing experience in Budapest. I was traveling with my sister and we stayed with a wonderful host, Bori. We sat around the table with her and her mother and had some great discussions!

Interests

Traveling (of course), salsa dancing, running, hiking, reading, movie watching..I also love to cook, especially a little bit of Lebanese food (I am half Lebanese) as well as some vegetarian dishes. Food is definitely a passion for me and a wonderful part of the traveling experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

La Charanga Habanera, Los Van Van and other Cuban salsa, Marc Anthony, Juanes, Reik. Bachata and merengue!! El Chapulin Colorado, El Chavo y Los Dos Chifladitos. Sometimes I read nutrition books like Fast Food Nation...other times other stuff, like any book by Jhumpa Lahiri. I also just read Half the Sky by Nicholas Kristof; very informative! I also like Time magazine. And am addicted to Netflix.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love Puerto Rico!! Climbed to the highest peak in El Yunque rainforest with a couple of friends.
