About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't wonder how it would be if I had done it, just do it and see...
Show the world to my daughter until she can see it on her own!

ABOUT ME

Well for me it all started with a camping trip in the US when I was 21 years old. Me and 3 of my best mates we flew to San Francisco, rented a car and drove down to LA via some of the great National Parks of the West for 5 weeks. From there I never looked back and became addicted to travel, discovering new cultures, civilizations and incredible landscapes. And of course meet the coolest people I can share my passion of travel with...that's what I call living :-)

PHILOSOPHY

No regrets, be curious of what life has to offer and embrace it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Before the arrival of my daughter, I liked to go to CS meetings and help travelers with some good tips about Brussels.
I did welcome in Brussels friends from all over the world I met during my different travels...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I still haven't surfed much, did it once in Wellington and my host was actually already a friend met via CS.
Same for hosting, only people I already met before, but that's mainly because I'm ashamed of the lack of facilities I have in my appartment for hosting :-)

Interests

- Travel, obviously :-)
- Hiking: my favorite spots for hiking so far are Tasmania, Yosemite, Iceland, Patagonia and the whole of New Zealand!
- Painting: that's one of my big passion. I love painters such as Munch, Schiele, Gauguin, Sidney Nolan and so many others!
- Theatre (1 of my dream would be to open an english speaking theatre in Brussels)
- cycling (I rarely use my car!)
- cricket, yes I'm am the biggest Belgian cricket fan...the ONLY Belgian cricket fan!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Great Dictator from Charlie Chaplin, my favourite movie. The Chaser's war on everything, my favourite TV show ever (together with Seinfeld), althought I did find lately Californication absolutely brilliant! :-)
As for music, I recommand Elliott Murphy...
The books I read are more nerdy, so no comment...;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done and seen: spend 3 hours on a small zodiac at sunset, surrounded by mommy whales and their baby. That was in Argentina, Peninsula Valdes, and I'll never forget it! I had had a good laugh about a massive french guy who had told me about it 1 week before and had told me how he cried when he encountered them...well I wasn't laughing when it was my turn, with my wheat eyes :-)
Going to Easter Island was also a big moment.
But the most amazing thing I've done is will be 1 year old in march 2018, her name is Ilana and she's the most beautiful baby in the world, honestly!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I do love to complain about how silly things can be sometimes, like the pedestrian lights in NZ and Oz that last for 1 second. In that field I am a champion!!! :-)
But is it a gift I should share with you guys? I don't know. I'm not that mean :-)
