About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To walk the earth and do it well.

ABOUT ME

Hi. I'm from Australia - born in Melbourne, grew up in Sydney, then spent a number of years in the Northern NSW town of Lismore. Essentially I'm a community worker and have worked with disadvantaged youth, disabled folks, street folks. I find that being around all these different types of people helps me learn about myself and society.

I like watching nature and find humans endlessly fascinating, so I guess these two things have kept me traveling. I've been traveling since 2008, lived in Ireland in 2009, working in a hostel and now I'm living and loving my life on Vancouver Island, Canada.

PHILOSOPHY

The further you go, the less you know!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf couches and often have people stay on mine.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

couch-surfed in Italy, Amsterdam, Ireland, Switzerland. I have been blessed to have amazing people host me from all different backgrounds and walks of life.

Interests

I enjoy playing music and writing songs. I play guitar, bass and have also recently aquired a banjo, which I'm trying to learn to play right now. I'm also an ametuer magician. I like swimming, hiking and being in nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music interests span from rock, americana, folk, reggae, soul. Anything with a fiddle in it will tug at my heartstrings.
I'm in to arthouse movies but also trashy b-grade horror/sci-fi. I read lots of sci-fi fiction, especially from the 1960s and 70s. Philip K Dick is my favorite author. I carry Le Petit Prince everywhere I go.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To many to name just one:
Forests and creeks of Australia
Anarchist art collective in East Timor.
Food in Sri Lanka.
Farming in Portugal.
Parc Guell, Barcelona.
Busking in Galway.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll generally have conversation about anything, but I'm especially interested in music, art, community organisations, human rights, environmentalism and philosophy.

I can talk alot if you like, or I can shut up and listen. I'm good at both.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cook Islands, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Portugal, Samoa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Timor-Leste (East Timor), United Kingdom, United States, Vanuatu

Countries I’ve Lived In
