ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly, happy person who loves to converse and meet new people. I have traveled to Australia, Korea, and throughout the U.S. Each of these experiences has helped me grow into the person I am today. Music is a big part of my life - I have taught piano and voice and have participated in a multitude of theatre and musical groups and productions. I have my B.A. in English (pre-law) from Indiana Univ. of Pennsylvania and am currently pursuing my J.D. at the University of Akron School of Law.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that the main goal in life is happiness. Whatever that entails - career, family, traveling, friends, a combination of a bunch of things, etc. I believe that it is not one's occupation or status in society that makes them admirable but whether or not they've achieved their own personal goals of happiness, whatever that may be.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm very excited to meet locals from the areas I travel to. I think this is a wonderful project and can really help someone become immersed in the true culture/area of the places they are visiting.

I had a wonderful time meeting up with the couchsurfers from Virginia Beach and plan on meeting more in the future!

Música, películas y libros

Music: Reggae, Hip Hop, Rap, Pop, Rock, and maybe a teaspoon of Country. All depends on what mood I'm in. I'm pretty adaptable to others tastes as well.

Movies: I love horror movies. Something that's scary yet intriguing, something that leaves you smiling at the end (in a life, not romance way), and comedies. Some of my faves include "Sixth Sense", "The Others", "Bucket List", all of the Harry Potter movies, "Legally Blonde", and others.

Books: Anything happy or mysterious. Some faves: "An Anonymous Lawyer", "A Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon", "If I Am Missing or Dead".

One thing that I would hope others would follow from my experience is that, when traveling, to respect the cultures of the areas you are visiting. While I was visiting Uluru (Ayer's Rock) in Australia, I had first learned in an Aborignal history course that Uluru was sacred to the Aborigial tribe located there and that there were certain areas (such as women's/ men's areas) that members of the opposite sex were forbidden to go. When I got there, I saw many tourists climbing the rock (forbidden to the Aboriginese and very offense). I also learned that a few months previous a man from a magazine had gone into a sacred women's area and took various photos. After the occurrence, the women took a man from their own tribe and beat him as punishment for the man from the magazine. Please, respect the cultures of others.
