About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Establishing a peaceful and balanced life.

ABOUT ME
.

USE GOOGLE MAPS TO PLAN YOUR TRIP...IT'S GREAT https://maps.google.com/
I live in zip code 90039

This may help you plan your itenerary: http://www.foodandwine.com/fwx/style/8-most-overrated-things-do-los-angeles

I am mostly an expert in plants, food, wine and beer. If you would like a tour from a plant and food perspective, I would be a good choice...if I am available. I am not much of a historian. If you give me some money for gas, I will be happy to take you far around the LA area...it's a BIG city.

I have a dry sense of humor when I am comfortable, I seek truth whenever I can, I cannot really lie to people, I love to cook and eat, and will gladly make you dinner if I visit you. I like to exercise (yoga, cycling and weight lifting), I love silence (I enjoy music, but do not seek it), I believe that it is important to be taken out of your comfort zone. I am quite spiritual, but dislike organized religion. I like to learn. I love plants, and mushroom hunting. I will eat and drink ANYTHING reasonably safe...especially when I see someone else do it first. I am not against drug use, but frown greatly upon addictions of any kind.

Although Couchsurfing is a great way to save money, if that is your one major goal here, then perhaps finding another host may be a good idea. Couchsurfing with us (and many others) is about faaaaaarrrr more than just finding a free bed. Would you still surf if every CSer charged as much as a hostel or cheap hotel does? Would you rather just be at the hostel in that case? If so, then look into staying at those sort of places instead.

PHILOSOPHY

Only boring people get bored. Strive to grow spiritually all the time. Release fear from your soul and mind, and you will gain bliss and enlightenment.

Love is the only rational act. In the end, there is only love; everything else quickly fades.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Quite a bit. Read the references. The concept is beautiful as it promotes trust, love, and learning. When it works, it is at the very least a great thing. When it fails, it can suck badly...but all things are temporary. Couchsurfing is awesome!

Interests

Many. Plants, cooking, yoga (Ashtanga, but willing to try other formats), food and wine, meditation, art, dancing, living, being, breathing, seeing. I don't give a shit about sports, and care deeply about food and wine. I find I am most comfortable around those in a similar mind set.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read on occasion, I see movies on occasion, I listen to little music myself, but do not mind when others do. I mostly read about cooking, plants, and various other subjects. Don´t talk to me about movies, t.v. shows, or music too much, or the conversation will not go very far. I only download music because I want something to play for my yoga classes. I like music and media to a degree...I just don´t seek it very actively.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling is AMAZING. The more you immerse in the foreign culture, the more you see outside of yourself, the more you learn about yourself...the more amazing life is. I visited a winery in Barolo Italy and tasted the amazing wine from that famous region. I had an authentic croissant in Paris. I went water tubing on the Wolfgangsee in St. Gilgen, Austria. I found wild orchids throughout Europe. I have sat a bar in Grenada, Spain; which was pulsating with youthful yet timeless Flamenco energy. I spent a small fortune on Iberico ham in Spain, I tasted delicious oolong tea in North Thailand and looked outside upon the bushes it was harvested from...and as always, I have had kind conversations with local strangers.

Teach, Learn, Share

I cook very well (just closed my restaurant Januanry 2015), and would love to show you, or exchange ideas on doing so. I can help you improve your English speaking skills for sure! I can also tell you a bunch of information about plants, because that is what I studied. I am willing to learn anything you are willing to share.
