ABOUT ME

I live in New York City, which feels like being home even though I am from The Netherlands.
My passion is the Theater, Poetry, Story telling and perform at least once a week.
I also work as a counselor, specializing in Healing Trauma and Chronic pain. I am a licensed Massage Therapist. I teach Dance, run groups and do private sessions.

negativity comes from un-consciousness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to bring positive experiences to CS, both with hosting and being hosted.
Through hosting I feel I create a home for people in a city that otherwise might feel overwhelming.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mostly wonderful, met all kinds of interesting people and made some new friends. I have done some subletting in various places in the world through CS, some doubtful, but mostly good.

I now realize that most CS'ers are much younger than I am, even though I know a lot of "older" people travel as well.
I hope 50+ ers will get more active and inter-active on CS!

Interests

Poetry and writing , as well as the performing arts.
I conduct performance around Life Stories.("Story Works")
I love animals, especially dogs and horses and if anyone needs any help with their animal,please contact me.
my dogs (mini poodles) are therapy dogs and sit in on my consultations .
Eckart Tolle says in his book The Power of Now; "I have lived with several Zen Masters and they were all animals"
I am the human spirit, music, theater, travel, nature,tantra and enlightment

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh my, I LOVE movies! Romance with depth, historical touch as well,no violence, but scifi yes.
Which ones?
Chocolat, Notting Hill, Pride and Prejudice,Madison County,if you get my drift and yes, Star Trek, especially Voyager.
But honestly, I love lots of movies and books and music, life without music would be a mistake.
I write poetry and writing a book with the working title " After Kids", hope to publish one day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bearing and birthing children and see them grow up....and yes, being in the house where Mozart grew up,where Rubens lived,where Rembrandt lived, going to the city that bears my name (Praag), living in New York 30 years ,surviving divorce and coming out on the other end and...and...and..
discovering sexuality…...

Teach, Learn, Share

I come from a very troubled past and now I have something to teach about seeing love and light.
In my private practice as Trauma Counselor and Chronic Pain advisor, I work with personal issues, and people who are seeking to overcome them and move forward.
I am very interested in Tantra as a way to enlightenment and creativity
