Moved to Chiang Mai this year. In a nutshell having a Thai sprog soon, got 2 cats, go to work... I like meet ups for coffee, tea, cat cafes, veggie food or indian dahl, drum n bass, reggae, dancing, parks. I am either super shy and awkward or enthusastic and happy, it depends conpletely on the vibe of who I am with. Nice people automatically bring the real me out of the damaged weird side, so if you are approachable, quirky, non judgemental nor racist we will enjoy each others company.

I've been living in Thailand for over 4 years now working as a primary school teacher. 3 of those years I lived on Koh Phangan where I may well return to because life was lovely although bubble-like there, then 6 months in Bangkok, now I am in Chiang Mai teaching maths, science etc at an International school. It gets me a work permit and visa so I do it. The children are alright too!

In my past life I did done many solo trips around Europe, hiking alone in the mountains, looking for lakes and waterfalls. I used to be independent, fearless, be inspired, self-motivated and optimistic but I am not sure about the present version of me.

I left my home country in 2014, travelling to Southeast Asia and did the cliche yoga thing, trying to fix my lifelong issues around debilitating shyness in certain situations. I volunteered at New Life foundation in Northern Thailand, Samma Karuna and Orion yoga/healing centres on Koh Phangan, all aiming to deepen my practice of mediation and yoga because I thought it would make me a better person and make a lifetime of social anxieties and feeling of disconnection magically disappear one over-priced healing session at a time. I trained in Reiki, Yoga, Theta Healing and even Laughter Yoga (oh dear!).

I hope to pick up some of my lost hobbies and put them to good use somehow.... maybe meeting some people with similar interests will re-inspire me. I've been on the verge of being almost good at spinning fire poi, violin, ukulele, guitar, teaching yoga, reiki, meditation and theta healing.

At the moment I love doing Tarot readings to answer my own questions and struggles and would love to do them for others without feeling awkward about it. All these lovely things I have learnt but don't practise as I lack the confidence to put them to use with others, I'm a bit nervous about one to one situations.

Getting over shyness has taken me YEARS and still not 100% there. I performed on stage at a dance show a couple of years ago (I was terrified and it was awful) and also performed at fire shows for a some traditional mystery plays at Lincoln Cathedral and Alchemy Festival in the UK. These things were amazing for me.

Surviving the earthquake in Nepal, fundraising with my Juggle 4 Nepal circus marathon, helping bring aid to refugee camps in Kathmandu and rebuilding housing with the charity Lincs 2 Nepal. It changed my life!
