About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as many plays as possible.

ABOUT ME

I am trying my best to be candid at the moment. Being British I sometimes miss the moment. I like to throw myself into things and can end up in some funny places. Calculated mishaps.

I seem to get around, in the nicest sense. Wondering when the time will come when I can't get away with it anymore. Getting nearer to the big 30, infact, it's only 3 weeks away. I wonder when old people start to wear Teflon clothes?

PHILOSOPHY

Try it once and try to take action, rather than linger on words. Today, not next month, next year........

How many missed opportunities can you count?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I finally managed to host, no mean feat with all the travelling I do. I'm glad I did it. I join in the odd meeting and go to the last stoppers parties. I also attended any house party I could go to in Moscow. Whilst I travelled, I managed to meet up with a few people and I have had a great time in the Dam for my birthday, thanks to those who joined me. Made it to a few meetings in Rome too.

I managed to surf for a day after a week of surfing in the sea, stayed at Anya's house and returned to Lisbon. I would love to host, but you have to mail quick and give lots of notice. I am not often in my own place.

I am hoping to meet lots of people in one of the most active communities this November. So far, I'm off to a flying start.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with an NGO worker in Bar Ha Dar, Ethiopia, for three nights of actually sleeping over and in a tent!!! I managed to host once when my friend decided to stay out.
I've surfed for a few nights in Lisbon and I had a great time.
I hosted a guest for two nights.

I have met with a few people for coffee and drinks or trips around churches in Bristol. I have met a few people in Buenos Aires, they kindly asked me to join in their events and this has given me a boost in confidence for my singing.

Interests

Singing, German, teaching (my current job), horse-riding, surfing, eating in great places, sleeping, in-line skating, I have only just learnt to do that. Cooking, reading and getting about town. Music is a great love of mine too, I am taking some lessons for my grade six award, but you'll find me going to a lot of concerts, I have been very lucky. I even managed to find time in Tokyo after work to go to concerts. Mika has an amazing voice. I also got to go to listen to a classical music concert at the Colon. I closed my eyes the whole way through, fascinating.

I have just finished a module of Shakespeare studies and really enjoyed it, returning to studies very soon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in New York the night of the major blackout. It was a fantastic night and I meet loads of people that would not have come out of their rooms otherwise.

The ancient churches of Ethiopia and I love the red and green roof tops of Prague and Graz, even when it is cold. The Mirabelle garden in Salzberg, is a Narnian dream, the statues seem like they will come to life. Plus the castle is so beautiful, but it also seems like Dracula himself might bite you there.

The beach in Sardinia at 7pm on an early April night, walking with some colleagues.

A man being kicked on the Moscow metro and no-one did anything about it, except little me, but they would not have understood me anyway.

Chased some robbers away from breaking into a car. That was a silly thing to do on account of being 5"2.
Eating cold pizza at the top of a hill in Fagagna in North Italy. The church bells went off at the same time I reached the top.
