About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding out how to spend the next year!

ABOUT ME

I am a sweet, playful and passionate girl who loves music, people and beauty.

I can be equally intense and aloof depending on my mood and how comfortable I feel in a situation. Once you know me you will find me to be very silly and impulsive, but also very serious and opinionated.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to add some magic to every moment of my life. I am never "just doing dishes".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I definitely do more surfing than hosting but I think everyone should be allowed to decide how they use the site. Everyone gets something out of it each time a door is opened, be it the host or the traveller. I like to think that I am nice to have around :)

Having 4 people in my home already it's not so easy just randomly hosting people as I have to work things around my flatmates preferences and schedules. We have an ok amount of space on our floors, but not any beds to offer. I do however really like hosting people when it does happen - I am just terrible at checking and arranging everything.

I very much admire the hosts here who let nearly hundreds of people in their homes each year :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Before using CS I surfed in Oslo and Göteborg with great success in a more spontaneous manner (stayed at a friend of a fiend's place in Oslo and met somebody IRL that offered to host in Göteborg). It's the ultimate way to experience a new city.

I surfed in Hamburg and Paris ('09) using CS, again a very positive experience.

Hosted a girl from Finland during the Climate Conference 09 in Copenhagen. I was traveling myself at the time so we only met shortly, but a positive experience hosting, none the less.

In the summer of 2010 me and my boyfriend had some great CS experiences in Singapore and Tokyo where we participated in some meet ups which brought us out dancing on bridges and petting cats in a 10th floor cat café.

In the autumn of '10 I surfed alone for the first time in London. It was very exiting! I felt very nervous, but I am so glad I decided to go. I stayed at the same place as another couchsurfer and it was really cool to have a roommate to share some late nights talks with :>

In 2011 my first CS plan is to meet some people in NY and when the summer comes around I am going to Asia! :)

..Basically I have a lot of great memories. Been surfing people's couches since 2011 and I keep loving the concept.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I am a big music consumer. Especially rock and punk. I had a radioshow about the latter up until the end of this semester (S 2014). You can check out what I'm listening to here: http://www.last.fm/user/fluesmaek

I love to read as well. I study Danish and like to write and that got me interested in Danish prose and poetry. Currently reading Bjørn Rasmussen and Lars Skinnebach. My favourite book changes all the time, but I keep coming back to Nabokov's Lolita because it's such an important book in so many ways. The last book that made a really big impression on me was Camus' The Stranger. When it comes to nonfiction I like poststructuralism and feminist theory the most.

I'd love to watch a great movie with you - I most likely won't watch it alone as I really dislike not having someone to comment on the movie with during and after. I like a lot of different types of movies, but I'm still really picky with which ones I like. For instance, everyone loves Black Swan. What's up with that? My favourite director atm is Michael Haneke and Harmony Korine.
