About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I solo trip A LOT and totally not digging staying in boring hotel rooms, that's why I'm CSing meeting people, exchanging stories during my travels.

The rest of my profile was written 10 years when I first started CS, but you get a feel of me :)
=================================================================================
ABOUT ME

I want to see and try as much as I could till the day I drop, meet as many people and hear their stories as possible. I like to be connected with awesome people and learn about them.

Growing up in an Asian country lets me appreciate Asian cultures; the experience of living in America has changed me as a person, for the better! I'm in the journey of finding the happier self and pass it on to people around me. I'd like to see myself growing into a person who has a lot of interesting stories to tell.

Traveling makes me see my potential and I'd like to meet persons I can make as life time friends, I'm heading toward that direction! I don't wanna die being ignorant so I appreciate every chance I can learn from something, someone.

PHILOSOPHY

Being positive goes a long way.
Smile, and your day will be brighter:)
When life gives me lemons, I ask for Tequilas;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I'll be surfing to my travel destinations and share my delightful energy to people I meet, and I'm eager to host after having my own apartment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Registered here for a while now but 2010 finally open my door to really participate in it. I'm a roockie in terms of having any CS experiences since I'm fairly new to this project, yet I've surfed through my travel to Thailand, intra-states in America and have shown Taipe to people all the way back before I knew CS project, I'm so glad I finally got to know this project and can be part of it.

Interests

*Traveling, putting more tags on the world map, I'm taking baby steps on this, slowly but hopefully surely toward my dream.

*Meeting people, hearing their stories and making connections/ Reading, I especially like self-help books and share what I read to my friends and hope that makes them happier people too.

*Reading people's traveling stories. I'm not a blogger, nor had I ever been interested in that, yet I have found some good traveling blogs and photo albums either from CSers or non-CSers. They are the inspiration for me to keep traveling in a free-style way! Reading their stories tells me though I am a female, though I grew up in an old school Asian country and with strong family bound, I can still have the chance to experience what they experience and make it my own.

*Dancing, when I'm dancing, I feel I'm the only person in that space:)My apology if I step on you or hit you w/ my elbows if we ever got a chance to dance!

*Hiking, especially in Fall, when the weather cools down but you still can hear and smells summer in the air.

*Thrift shop treasure hunting, trust me, it can be much more fun than shopping in Saks Fifth Avenue...well, not that I really have the finance to do so myself:p

*Cooking, I like to cook for friends and hope to cook WITH friends. I WILL BRING SOY SAUCE WHILE TRAVELING, I'D LOVE TO COOK FOR YOU, experimental style! My CS friends~

*Biking, along the river in Sunday afternoon in a breezy sunny day...can't beat that!

*Bakery, I LOVE bakery, a piece of good bread equals a good start of the day! And coffee too!! Please do let me know your favorite bakery shops in your city:D

*Botanic gardens...I even visited Chicago botanic garden in freezing cold January...well...didn't need to pay parking fee tho;)

Music: gotta love Billy Joel, OneRepublic's music is what I listen to practically everyday nowadays. And I recommend every traveling soul to listen to their "Good Life", you'd love it!

TV: I love funny serious, I like to laugh...laugh out loud! Cougar Town; How I Met Your Mother. Also, Glee and Mercy are nice.

Books: Loving What Is by Byron Katie is one of the best among my collection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Pumping gas to yachts and making friends with boat owners while working in a marina one summer in the States was definitely memorable.

Traveling solo to Thailand for a month and be friends with locals and went to islands with the locals.

I spent both 2007 New Year count down and 2008 United States Presidential Election in Time Square, both were exiting and emotional events that I attended.

In 2010, I went to Yenshui, Tainan (a small town in Southern Taiwan) for Yenshui Beehive Fireworks Festival...that was AMAZING! Imagine wearing a heavy full covered helmet, a mask, a scarf, a pair of gloves, a thick pair of jeans and jacket and you sports shoes in at least 28 degree Tainan air, squeezed with 150,000 other people in this small town running after palanquins chasing shooting fireworks? That night, at least 320,000 firecrackers were set off...and of course I was hit, cuz you never knew where the beehive fireworks would go...no whining, I played like a champ, what a great night in sweat and dark smoke!! I'll take this experience as a prerequisite for La Tomatina:D (Or it should be vise versa~)

Update...(March 2010, 1st trip to Seoul, SK) Eating Octopus alive was pretty awesome...feeling chopped tentacles dancing in my month and sucking my lips and tongue was just...WOW!!

Hitchhiking, FKK beaches in Europe, brilliant~ (not particularly in that order...)

2016 Euro trip I was in Istanbul, Athens and Rome within 24 hours and get into the cities to have a taste of them. 3 cities, 3 countries within 24 hours, pretty crazy yet memorable:)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interested in languages, for the time being I'm picking up some Spanish, I can also help you with Chinese because it is a very beautiful language. I'm very experimental as far as cooking goes, and am interested in learning world recipe, yet I can share some good Taiwanese desert recipe my mama taught me! If you wanna learn free style dancing, look no further;) Oh yeah, I could also teach you Chinese calligraphy, traditional Chinese style~ I'd love to learn things I don't know yet, surprise me, inspire me!
