About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living every moment to its fullest. Enjoy each and every day like it's your last

ABOUT ME

Just got back to Melbourne after studying in Uppsala, Sweden for 6 months!
For about 3 years I was on the road. Almost every place I traveled to I fell in love with - I spent a long time in Latin America, and loved learning Spanish. When I arrived in South America I immediately knew that it was the right place for me. The Spanish language fascinates me. I love Latin music and dance, and I am fast becoming addicted to Brasilian Jiu Jitsu

PHILOSOPHY

Acceptance, Enjoyment and Enthusiasm in all things
Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth

I believe we are here to grow, learn, experience, enjoy this gift that is life, and spread that joy and enthusiasm to others

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I only learned about couch surfing when I started traveling. Fellow travelers told me how amazing the project is so I looked into it. Travel for me is more about meeting people and building friendships then it is about seeing sights, museums, etc. The CS Project seems like a fantastic way for travelers to meet like-minded members of the community they are traveling through and building awareness between cultures. I can't wait to be able to host couch surfers when I have my own place.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was in Kyrgyzstan I stayed at peoples homes and experienced how much more meaningful it was to live in someones home instead of staying in a hotel or hostel. I really got to see what it was like to live in Kyrgyzstan, how they eat, sleep and live. I loved that experience and will never forget it!!
Went to Midsummer Camp 2009 (Latvia) and met soooo many great people from CS. I love the CS community. Have had many other memorable CS experiences in Europe and South America - go CS!!

Interests

I love all sports. Anything that gets the body moving is good in my book. Surfing, soccer, snow boarding, martial arts, tennis, aussie rules football, trekking, hikking, bike riding, yoga

Dancing - I've never been a great dancer, but I love trying, and the latin dances really float my boat - salsa, bachata, tango, milonga, zouk. I love it all, love going out to latin clubs - and I'm now starting to learn the good places to go in Melbourne

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking to Everest Base Camp. I was in Nepal in Feb 09 and spent 3 weeks trekking in the Khumbu region. I have never see mountains, rivers, and valleys as beautiful as what I saw in Nepal. It was a truly moving and life changing experience. I would recommend it to anyone, no matter what your age or fitness level. I met a couple in their late 60's at base camp

Teach, Learn, Share

I have spent a lot of time researching and experimenting with ways of training the body to become stronger, more athletic, and healthier. I love challenging my body and pushing myself to the limit, just as much as I love showing interested people the joy and energy received from eating healthy and keeping fit. I also have put effort into learning self-defence techniques and I am more than happy to teach people who want to know how to defend themselves.
Languages: Even though language learning isn't my greatest strength, I really enjoy it, as it opens your mind to new and exciting cultures. I'm learning Spanish and Persian Farsi at the moment.
Dancing: I love watching people dance, and wish I could dance myself. Much help is needed!! I'm keen to learn latin dance, but anything really
