À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

her path :)

ABOUT ME

I just discovered how to do colors in HTML so scuse the little color-circus below :) I can be funny, silly, nutty as a fruitcake, I can be serious & stubborn. Observer yet impatient ... talkative but trying to master my listening skills... chaotic, but there is a method in my chaos ... emotional and spontaneous, but people say I give wise advice :) I tested as ENFJ in personality tests - and it seems right. I'm imperfect. I believe that mistakes are the most effective way to learn and unfortunately [or fortunately], intelligence doesn't prevent from making them. The point is that we learn and grow :) I adore people that dig into reality with enthusiasm and passion . I don't like shallow explanations and I enjoy bringing "non-appropriate" issues to discuss :) I like seeing the other side of things. Like most of us, I get easily fascinated by traveling that provides me with this exceptional kaleidoscope of incentive . Traveling opens my eyes, plays with my senses, leaves me lost, confused, happy, open, full of new people, new smells, brand-new imagination :) Traveling is intimate. Change is my source of energy, routine kills me. However, sharing and good deep relations with people are important and intense in my life and rarely disappear. Personal choices always get to me in the least appropriate time, stressing me out and motivating to move forward and do best out of my life. If there is a risk, there is a pleasure , old Polish proverb goes. I like unpredictability. I love observing the variety of the world we live in, capturing faces of people and their minds. Although I believe the way is communication (I am the type that gets very unhappy if she can't communicate with someone) I also love those moments of silence, given to myself. Like mountains - a good trek, just myself, peace and this different way of seeing things, something about the Nature... invariably, always recharging.

PHILOSOPHY

Difficult doesn't mean impossible. I am re-learning this lesson every day this time of my life...

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host. I surf (rarely so far). I care :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined in 2005 & I hosted a lot of people, among them Ivonne, Mathias, Alfachino, Menzeer, Thomass, Dave, Bryan, Kostya, Olga, Peter, Marek, Ondriej, Asia, others... 2006-2007 traveling and surfing, I was in the middle of moving and important changes in my life. Hosted by Mathias&Anna, Joseph, Jessica, Paula, Christine, Tanja, Adrian, Eileen&Claudia&Christian&Martin, Rory, Julien. Thank you. Since 2008 hosting some people and doing some surfing but less than before, mainly to quite difficult times of getting jobs/losing jobs/making plans to move out of Ireland and to go somewhere else. During that time hosted some amazing people, like Oksana&Dimitri! I also stayed on couches of wonderful people in Belfast and Berlin. My life got really busy, but lots of my CouchSurfing friends turned to real-life friends and I'm grateful.

Centres d'intérêt

For me, the most interesting in the world are people. Their emotions, their life paths, their personal philosophy. Through learning about their world I can experience the reality I live in in various, multiple ways, because a collective human imagination knows no boundaries...
Well, of course there are other things that I love too. Like earrings. Or coffee. Or trains. Or books. Or concerts. Or...

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

This list is a bit old, I didn't update my profile in quite some time, and I seem to be devouring books, music and films at the pace that I fail to catalogue ;)
Books:
"A long way down" by Nick Hornby - and in general Nick Hornby. Witty. Just read some time ago - "From Beirut to Jerusalem", Thomas L. Friedman. I love love love good reportage in general. Anytime I come back to Cortazar, I find his books really special.. I like magical realism from South America - Borges , but it's hard work to read him, Somoza , Llosa, Saramago or Carpentier... From Europeans - Kundera, Tokarczuk, Kapuscinski -images of Africa, Perez-Reverte, Suskind - need I say more? For lighter hours Tolkien, Sapkowski, Pratchett, J.K. Rowling and something special for long winter evenings- Polish poetry, Baran, Swietlicki, Wojaczek and my goddess - Poswiatowska... but the list is much much longer...
Music:
Just came back from the great concert, Al di Meola Project, playing mostly "Consequence of Chaos", but also some old pieces... delicious! The list will expand for too long again! Many genres: rock, old Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, progressive& weird..Marillon, SymphonyX, Muse, Radiohead. I love blues - grew up with Clapton, blues festivals.. - Rawa blues in Poland -http://www.rawablues.com, and yes, this is an advertisment, I like to promote good quality things;).. jazz (lots of bands, Davis, Stanko, smooth jazz, too many artists to list them all) & yass - Trzaska also, ethno - The Warsaw Village Band, Stara Lipa, Matragona, guitarists Paco de Lucia, Tomatito, Gonzales and pianists, like Camilo.. plus rhythms, funk, reggae, especially during festivals.. I love to dance, you see? :) I am full of small memories now... Masterpiece of Mozdzer, Danielsson, Fresco - The Time. Loving also one CD with wonderful music, An evening with JP and JR, some people know what I'm talking about :) Can't forget about the classical music too.. I was raised with that: Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Grieg, List, JS Bach & many more.

But the one constant love of my musical life, the only band I keep coming back to over, and over, and over again, would and could only be The Beatles . One album that I will take with me to a deserted Island (if I could listen to it on that island :P) - All Things Must Pass , George Harrison , solo.
New things I started to love last few years, INDIE and having something to say on a musical muzak stage of today: thenewno2, gogol bordello, Nayekhovichi, Ska-p, Lhasa, Daniel Khan and the Painted Bird, The Swell Season, Tesco Value/Czeslaw spiewa :) Check them all out, people. And check Paula i Karol, by our CS fellow member, Paula Bialski :)
Movies:

Some new discoveries: "La Mome" by Jenuet ... people do criticize this movie, but from the right perspective, it's nothing short of very impressive. Perfume... I'm speechless. Couple of other movies, which I like: La cite de enfants perdus, Delicatessen (Jeunet) Before Sunrise & Before Sunset (Linklater),Trois couleurs - Rouge (Kieslowski), La mala educacion , Todo sobre mi madre (Almodovar) , Chinatown (Polanski) , Les Triplettes de Belleville (Chomet), La belle noiseuse (Riverte), Krajinka (Sulik), Samotari (Ondricek) , I racconti di Canterbury (Pasolini), Sanger fran andra vaningen (Andersson) , Intimacy (Chereau), La stanza del figlio (Moretti), Coffee&cigarettes (Jarmusch), Koyaanisqatsi (Reggio), Touching the void (Macdonald) - breathtaking, A woman under the influence (Casavettes), my little discovery - As I was moving ahead occasionally, I saw brief glimpses of beauty (Mekas) , Changing Lanes (Michell) ... and a beautiful movie full of beautiful music - Calle 55 .. PLUS something unforgettable, but understandable only for Polish - those completely ridiculous and bluntly malicious movies that were making fun of a communist system, released in 60-70-80 - sparks of Polish sense of humour - Mis, Rejs, Hydrozagadka being just few of them.
I like looking at good PHOTOGRAPHY, for me it's more rewarding than fine arts. I like surreal works, psychedelic pictures, artistic acts, human faces. Or just random photos that happen to be interesting. Whatever I discover, be it poetry, music, photography, literature, I always loved the good story, but was really inspired by the background. Play, synesthésie, collage, intensity, unexpected lights, variety, just chaos in general ;)
