About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep visitng more 7-ELEVEn in the world

ABOUT ME

Hiya, I am Lorencio. I am a postgraduate student of the City University of Hong Kong. I love helping people, I always try my best in helping others to solve their problem. As a "non-local" student in City U myself, I have many opportunities to meet other overseas students. I understand that the school has done a few things to help them enjoying their stay in Hong Kong. However, owing to the limited resources and the limited knowledge of the local students, the overseas students could not get what they want in most of the time, and they always come to me for advice. As more and more overseas students come for my help, and more and more times I heard from them about the failure of the school in helping them, my desire of building an online guide for them had reach the boiling point. So, in 2007, I have built an online website - http://www.cityuexchange.org to offer my little help. Since then, I have been organizing activites for all international students in Hong Kong to see all over Hong Kong.

PHILOSOPHY

I love seeing people happy, so I love helping people solving their problem. I love to bring happy and satisfaction to others. I love to inspire people. I also want to be different. That may explain why I went to all the 7-ELEVEn stores in Hong Kong and raised over 1,000 US$ for charity

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

1) I have created an online guide - http://www.cityuexchange.org to help any new people coming to HK to study, to work or to stay. This guide is not like any tourist guide. It doesn't tell you everything about Hong Kong at a visiting objective. On the other hand, it is designed for exchange students / exchange employees (expats). It is hoped that from an exchange student's point of view, this guide could be more useful than any other guide.

2) I have been organizing different kinds of activities for more than 1,000 international students over the years. They include birthday parties, food parties, boat trips, hiking trips, biking, soccer tournament, BBQ, cultural tours, etc. We welcome everyone, not just students, to join our events which are all extremely fun according to the feedbacks.

3) Since we have a huge number of students member who is coming from all over the world, such as USA, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australasia, and South America; anyone who are new to Hong Kong should be able to make new friends fast and in large quantity by hanging out with us.

4) I have been welcoming new arrivals for many years and I am willing to answer any questions for any new comers to make sure they have a pleasant experience in Hong Kong.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The organizing of activities for international visitors over the past few years I believe, is similar to the purpose of Couchsurfing. I am not able to offer my couch in the meantime, but I organize activity every week for people to have fun all over Hong Kong and they made a lot of new friends and have a lot of fun every time.
