About Me

CURRENT MISSION

my mission is to be as good of a person as i am able, help others in need, meet decent, hard-working people and travel the world, one day at a time!

ABOUT ME

i am a freelance Scuba Dive Intstructor and well-travelled dude and Sani is a personal trainer (so you may have to do lots of jumping jacks, sit-ups and push-ups before brekkie! haha). i've been to europe 12 times, with a eurailpass, lived and worked in paris, germany, etc...i have been to all 50 u.s. states, 4 provinces of canada, peru, ecuador, bolivia, all countries in central america (panama, costa rica, nicaragua, el salvador, honduras, belize, guatemala), mexico, japan, korea, thailand, laos, burma, cambodia, vietnam, malaysia, singapore, indonesia, the philippines and united arab emirates. uk (england, wales) and ireland. WHEW!WOW-SAH, eh?Sani is my special guy, not in small part because we both love to travel, scuba dive, eat and cook healthy, workout, meet fun people, and enjoy all life has to offer! We enjoy to host, and he usually is home just in the mornings before work, and late in the evening. But i 'work' from home, so am free to answer any questions and get you started on your day exploring the city, country, or region of the planet!

PHILOSOPHY

live, love, live some more. happiness is a purely internal state of mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i have enjoyed the hospitality of friends and strangers alike since my first solo trip to europe when i was 17. i have been involved with CS almost from its inception nearly 7 years ago, am very active in my local community where that may be at that time, am always available to give advice on the group postings, and also enjoy to organize the occasional gathering near my home at bangsar, in kl.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i love to couchsurf! it allows me to meet the nicest, most interesting people! i enjoy to sit, get acquainted with them, become their friends, hang out, and have someone to chat with, rather than sit alone in cold, impersonal hotel room. Since moving to our new condo, we now host from time to time. But i travel a lot, and Sani works, so you have to make sure I will be here to let you in. He doesn't host when I'm not here, usually.

Interests

photography, travel, scuba diving, snow skiing, cooking, gardening, landscaping, volunteering with habitat for humanity as well as any other worthwhile cause. is there anything in your area to which i could devote some time?

Music, Movies, and Books

sci-fi, fantasy, non-fiction, biographies, all music (except country and bluegrass) and see most new movies within a day of their release! i'm a movie junkie, i guess you could say!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

machu piccu, palenque, tikal, copan, chichen itza, eiffel tower, big ben, coliseum (rome and others) all 50 states, all countries in central america, all countries in western europe, many in eastern europe, peru and bolivia in south america. dived most of the world's top destinations, now have to show them all to sani!

Teach, Learn, Share

i love to cook, italian, mexican and thai (took a 7 day class in thailand during my sea trip last winter!). i love working outside in the yard, landscaping, gardening, etc...

since i have travelled for 23 years, i am very good at it. i can find the best deals, or the nicest places. and sometimes i can arrange for one of the nicest places to give me the best deals! ha ha ha

but, when i go to a new place, i see all it has to offer. i stay in some budget hostels, some guesthouses, some more expensive hotels, so i feel i get a full exposure to the place. i also eat at streetside vendors, the most expensive revolving restaurants overlooking a city, and frequently eat things i've never had, heard of, and sometimes make my digestive system recoil and revolt against me! but that is half the fun of travel, getting outside of my comfort zone, right?

ask me, i can give you input on all that and more!

peace
