About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style

ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Lara, like "Lara Croft Tomb Raider" or "Doctor Zhivago Lara's Theme", depending on the era you were born. (My father named me, he is a professional entertainer, main instrument is the piano.) I grew up singing with my siblings & father. 4th child of 6th kids, big Italian house-hold. Tons of crazy, fun, exciting never boring traditions. Its like that saying, "you won't understand it, unless you are one of us."
I have been on my own since I was 16 years old. Not because I was forced. But, because I wanted to prove to myself that I could be independent at a very young age. Ever since, I can remember I was always interested in learning about older/wiser individuals. Their stories were always so captivating. Now, that I'm a little older I am a chef, intrigued with learning, growing, exploring, & also traveling the possibilities of our world.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is not a contest. It's an experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just moved back to the Capital District; Albany, New York looking to surf/host!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

January 2011- Met 10 CS members at Butcher Jone's Picnic site,Saguaro Lake (Phoenix, Arizona.) I had a great experience meeting & greeting everyone. We took a wonderful 3-mile hike, relaxed, talked, drank lemonade/beer/water, ate 3 very different kinds of fish but delicious (salmon, coho and sockeye salmon,) & who could forget that great salad ;). All, the fish was acquired, processed & cleaned by fisherman Mitch Field. He brought all the fish from Alaska! I don't usually like fish but it was incredible! The connections, I have made I hope to keep them for life:). Great, people very welcoming:)Hopefully, I will get the chance to meet everyone again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Packed a bag to leave on a spontaneous 6 month trip to Arizona. Looking to find myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a chef, so I take the skills of working with food on my adventurers. Teaching others how to mold, shape/create a work of art. Cooking, is the one thing in life I feel as though I have the control to change it.
