About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To transform the world from the inside out.

Spread Love, Joy and deeper Connection to the Earth everywhere I go.

ABOUT ME

I recently relocated with my family.

We used to live in Germany, in a little town called Gimbsheim, very near the Rhine River outside of Worms.

Now we are putting down our roots in Southern Utah. I'm originally from Utah.

In the past few years I've opened myself up quite a bit to a more holistic way of living, a new way of being. My goal is to keep life simple and uncomplicated, learn to love myself and love life just the way it is, and fill it up with meaning instead of filling it up with things and consumption of things.

I have a son who is an absolute shining bright light in our world, his name is Caelin. He is brilliant, and very outgoing and fun. I also have a daughter, Joey, who is papa's little princess, and she knows it. Caelin calls her a diva. She is stubborn, (I don't know where she gets that from! Really!!) and has a great sense of humor!

I am married to the amazing Sandra.

PHILOSOPHY

Know thyself. If you don't take the time to get to know who you are you will miss the entire point of life.

To give and to receive are two sides of the same coin, and the gift of love and friendship to a fellow being is the greatest gift of all.

In any case I definitely believe that living is the most important part of life... Everyone dies, but not every one really lives. Material things are not so important to me (well... I do appreciate a motorcycle with character and I love to walk through the hardware store and look at power tools, so I am not entirely unattached to the material things of life!)

Right now I am learning a lot about self acceptance and allowing myself to be authentic and genuine. Being vulnerable and open is an important part of that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have a couch and I occasionally try to organize events. I don't often get couch requests, I am not in an area where many people come to travel... so when I DO get a request it is always exciting!

My place is very small but cozy, and the couch is big enough for one person. Sometimes my children are with me, sometimes they are with their mama.

I have hosted in the past, twice so far... both times finding it to be a very pleasant experience, and I look forward to more of them. I am ALWAYS happy and willing to go out for a coffee, or just show someone around and be good company. My German and English are of course pretty good, and my Spanish is also fluent enough for a decent conversation. I really enjoy showing people the hidden treasures of a place (incidentally this is also one of the things I enjoy most about CS travelling... the hidden treasures you discover, speaking both in terms of the surrounding area and in terms of the beautiful souls that one becomes acquainted with)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My FIRST experience being a guest was when my family and I stayed with Francesco, in Pescara Italy, and he is my hero because his graciousness and hosting skills convinced my wife to participate in Couchsurfing with me (she was skeptical at first). We really appreciated him. An evening with Alex (also in Pescara) was very fun and heartwarming, and of course we could not stop laughing the entire time we spent with Rodolfo and his hilarious family in Miglianico.

I also enjoyed hosting Esther and Inti who both (separately) stayed with me in Costa Rica. Long story short, I LOVE couchsurfing, whether hosting or surfing.

Aside from that, I haven't had the opportunity to surf much. Now that I am a single father I hope to have more opportunities for travel and couchsurfing. And while I am at home I am hoping you will expand my horizons by coming sometime for a visit!

Interests

I am interested first and foremost in seeing the world through different eyes. Even though I need a lot of time alone to recharge my soul I really enjoy people, especially people who are seeking out similar things in their own lives and who are openminded and enjoying life.

I appreciate nature. I love swimming in rivers where ever possible... I am from the mountains, I feel connected in the mountains. I like to cook when I can do it in peace and quiet, without rushing. I love learning new things.

I am not much of a party person. I used to drink and smoke and do all that fun stuff, but I find that it doesn't really fit who I have become anymore. I like dancing, especially latin dancing (not that I am any good at it... I just like it!) I like to sing and play guitar... that doesn't mean I do it well, it just means I like to do it!

Mostly I have a keen interest in personal and spiritual development. I search for meaning and purpose in my life, it is always very important to me to have this. I am open to people sharing in this regard.

I like to play chess, work with my hands, read and write, watch quality films, and I absolutely love to travel.

Favorite music: Brandi Carlisle, Ray LaMontagne, Gaby Moreno, Katie Melua, Carla Bruni, U2, Chris Isaak, Blackhawk, Peter Maffay, Emmylou Harris, Dry the River, Mumford anything that strikes a chord deep inside really...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I caught my children as they entered the world, and it changed my life forever. Nothing else can top that.

But the most profound experiences I ever had were with sacred plant medicine. I've glimpsed into the void. There are no words.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you identify your unconscious patterns that are keeping you stuck and pretending to be small. I can help you realize yourself a little more deeply.

I can show you how to appreciate everything, all the time.
