About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Avoid the white picket fence.

ABOUT ME

I'm back home! University has eaten my life, but at least I'm in Melbourne surrounded by coffee.

PHILOSOPHY

"Don't wait. The time will never be just right." From the otherwise somewhat banal Napoleon Hill.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately I can't host at the moment, but I organise a German Conversation Group once a fortnight. See the Melbourne Language Exchange group if you're interested in coming along :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met a bunch of great people while backpacking who have been involved, and I'm hoping to meet a few more.

Interests

Photography, the ocean, strange creatures, new cities, exciting food.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm one of those annoying people that actually does like almost all music. Even some country and hiphop. But absolutely no Chinese pop-music. Good lord. But if you've gotta choose one of each:

Singer: Ani Difranco

Band: The Mountain Goats

Movie: Carrington

Poet: Edna Millay

I cannot possibly choose a single book, though. Sorry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dived with all manner of sharks (whalesharks, threshers, grey nurses) and other creatures (mantas, ornate ghost pipe fish, giant stingrays, turtles, seals), and in amazing places (shipwrecks, reefs, and caverns measureless to man).

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about fish, the ocean, the human body, microbes, and statistics. If you don't think that list got more boring as it went on, we will be great friends!

I can show you how to tie knots, cook passable a Thai curry, speak some German, and say "How's it going?" in Swahili, Thai, Japanese and a few others.

I know absolutely nothing about physics or why all the magic equations I use in statistics actually work. If you can explain these things, you will be my hero.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Egypt, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia
