Sobre Mim
CURRENT MISSION
Being still and doing nothing are two very different things.
ABOUT ME
Beach, motorcycles, writing, photography, music, part time vegan/raw, flying, stories, travel, family, friends & good food, yoga, martial arts, teaching, nature, camping on occasion...there's so much more.
We're in our 40's & 50's and there's lots of life between us. I'm a little more adventurous than he but we have a perfect balance in our lives with each other.
I'm a ex-Navy brat and my husband is retired Master Sergeant, Army Reserve and a current LT with a local sheriff's department. He also writes for several police and martial arts magazines, teaches defensive tactics and many classes for local and distant colleges & academies.
I make the home run smoothly. :)
We're currently planning a cross country road trip from FL to Washington state for 2012. We're so excited.
PHILOSOPHY
**We're all more alike than different as demonstrated by our love of family, friends & food**
*“When non-violence in speech, thought, and action is established, one’s aggressive nature is relinquished and others abandon hostility in one’s presence.” -as translated by Mr. B.K.S. Iyengard in Light on the Yoga Sutras.*

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We're working on this part!
Let's be honest-we're all about family, friends, food & culture...meeting new people. We don't worry about becoming bff's or participating in each others lives while we're hosting/surfing; I don't feel that's what this is all about. We'd all like to find a place to stay while traveling that will cut down on costs. All we can hope for is that maybe we do become friends, hope for gracious hosts; remember to respectful of the environment you're in and be thankful. People do not have to open their homes to you but they are willing. Isn't that what this is all about?!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In progress.
Interesses
We're both well rounded/experienced and love to do so many different things that it's easiest to admit that we're not really into partying. We've reached a comfortable age and balance and we're ready to go do some more exploring. Nice glass of wine or an ice cold beer never hurt-we're not smokers.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz
Learned to speak while living in Ireland (my father would tell you that I learned to argue there as well), repelled in Molokai, surfed North Shore & Big Sur back in the day, played with manatees @ Cocoa Beach, but my most recent thing is being involved with the NOAA sea turtle release last year.
He said the coolest thing was taking a tour of major Tunisian city from underneath a helicopter, while he was attached to a rope. A new military friend's idea of a joke.
Ensine, Aprenda, Compartilhe
Raw food. Am a beginner for the last 3months and am learning and enjoying every day. I'm not sure I could live without my Vitamix at this point.
I enjoy growing and dehydrating my own herbs and veggies as well. Not to mention wonderful raw recipes in the "flavor enhancer" (dehydrator).
