ABOUT ME

I am living in Quebec city, both downtown and in countryside. I work as emergency physician in a mid-size hospital. Profile on LinkedIn.
I have 2 lovely and precious daughters, now grown-up and independent, also couchsurfers.
I have been traveling widely since I was 17, and been in all continents (except Antarctica), often alone, never in organized groups, buying a ticket and a lonely planet guide. I have been maybe 8 times in Asia, traveled a year in a Westphalia in Europe /North Africa. Climbed Kili. Trekked in Mali, Patagonia, Nepal (Annapurna trek), central America. Crossed Sahara in 4x4 from France. Scubadived (Rescue diver) in most seas. Crossed south Atlantic in catamaran 2 times last 2016. Several sailing trips in south pacific. Visited China alone before new era. Last 2015 trips: hiking in Ethiopian mountains and remote (China side)Tibet, climbing Kailash.
Brought my daughters in egypt, honduras, Marquesas Islands, Guatemala, Iran etc. Otherwise I enjoy my work, gardening, planting trees, woodworking, tango lessons,tennis, playing basic piano,hiking,music/cultural events,cooking without recipies, and good wine with good friends.
Tired of travelling alone too often: couchsurfing is a way to meet nice people, escape the late afternoon blues once all hiking/visiting/museums/markets is done.
Looking also for travel partner, anywhere.

PHILOSOPHY

live now, in case life would be short;
if not, one will have had a great time:
go ahead, solution will come;
a word, a small attention, a tiny gift,a smile, may change people's life;
if you do something, love it, and do it well;
catch the bus when it goes by, especially on a lonely road;
there are no coincidences

CS is not a way to get free accommodation, but to meet people: while I could afford alone a room with a view, I would rather enjoy a sofa at some nice folks place.
I see CS as a way to meet people, to help them if they come to Canada
