Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I usually host people and I love the idea of sharing my home with people who have diferent background. I don't just give someone a place to stay, I give them a unique opportunity to experience one sample of the local culture and how is the interaction between locals and them Hometown. It's a great way to travel without getting out from our own homes!!. On the second hand, it's another way to make our lives more global. I belive CS encourage a kind of a "cultural shock" among people and it contribute, at the end, to make us more tolerant citizen and respect everyone, all differences. And, come on! it's an amazing way to make new friends from all over the world. =)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

until now I've hosted more than 40 people and all of them were really good with few exception. Most of them is reported as references and you may check at this page =)

Music, Movies, and Books

About Movies:Undoubtedly "Into the Wild" is my favorite movie, No wonder, it is the favorite movie for all CSurfers I think. But Movies Like "Mary & Max", "The Lives of Others", "Cinema Paradiso", "Requiem for a Dream", "Das Boot" and all directed by Tarantino and Clint Eastwood are on Top of my favorite movies.Currently, from a year ago, I started to be more aware about movies and I have watched lots of them in attempt to complete the IMDB 250 list of best movies. right now I've watched around 150 and my goal is to complete all 250 at either the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013! And I love having a conversation about them."Back to the Future", "Total Recall", "Terminator", "Gonnies" and others 80's films make part of my life like to many people from my generation. About Music:As I said before, I'm a amateur musician and my taste of music changes according to I'm learning at the moment. I've had a heavy metal moment passing by hard rock moment and when I started to study harmony I stopped a while listening Brazilian music like Samba and Bossa Nova.My root is rock I can't deny it, but my musical identity have much from samba in which is played everywhere around my town. then, I translate it in my musics.About Books:My favorite writer is Hermann Hesse and currently I'm reading "Steppenwolf" (Der Steppenwolf in German) and I'm so sad that my german is still bad to try to read this one in german. I read "Demian" and it is really cool!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not good in matter of reminding awestruck moments. maybe because I'm saving money to a huge backpacking. But the trip I did to participate at the world social forum in 2009 was so remarkable. I really have good memories from this 10 days I spent in Belem, Brazil.
