About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To roam the globe experiencing new cultures, learning about myself and meeting as many new people as I can along the way

ABOUT ME

I was thoroughly bored with the 9 to 5 and needed to go exploring before life had passed me by and I was too old to do it. I didn't like my job and needed some adventure, so I quit the work, sold the car, leased the flat and left the UK to seek adventure. I've been away for almost three years now and I know it is the best thing I've ever done. I've met lots of new friends, seen some amazing sights and learned a lot about myself. I'm basically just chasing happiness until I find someplace to settle. I love working with animals and want to do some more fulfilling volunteering work in a zoo or rescue centre and hope to eventually find a job in conservation. I fulfilled dreams in learning to dive and seeing Orangutans in the wild, and I hope to end up in a job working with animals in a place I will be eternally happy. Why not chase the dream? Get over The Fear and you will be content.

Interests

Working with animals, working outdoors, keeping fit, exploring and learning about new places, love seeing bands or any type of live music, foreign and arthouse films, generally being loquacious and meeting new people! Diving is my new passion, I want to travel the world visiting the best dive sites and explore the underwater environment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any movie that is long, complicated and emotive! For example: City of God, Pan's Labrynth, Goodfellas, Donnie Darko, Requiem for a Dream..I don't see the point in reading a book unless you learn something from it. I hate chick-lit and, come to think of it, movies in the same genre. The best book I have read recently is 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Khalied Hosseini. Shantaram is a must read also... :-)I love music, my favourite activity is going to see live bands, festivals etc. I'm into 90's indie mostly but I like older stuff too like The Stones, The Doors. Really into Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and PJ Harvey at the minute. I try to go to as many festivals as possible, there's nothing I love more than to sit in a big field in the sunshine with me mates and a large gin watching a good band or five.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've flown over Table mountain in Cape Town in a helicopter, that was pretty amazing! Learning to dive and spotting sharks amongst other underwater beasties big and small was pretty cool. Best experience was working in the animal rescue centre in South America though, would do it again in a heartbeat.
