About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet others, share experiences and increase understanding in this world.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel, make new friends and had a roommate that has had amazing trips couch surfing. I have hosted a few people and need to get traveling this year.
I live on an island in the middle of Lake Washington, between Seattle and Bellevue. Right now, I have a comfy couch up for grabs, and a musical studio that doubles as a guest bedroom. I also have a tent and camping equipment. You could sleep in the private backyard or set up a camping cot on my wrap around deck.
I am very close to the bus line into Seattle - which is only 5 miles away. I have a large gourmet kitchen and a hot tub room. There is always someone hanging around, my kids drop by - age 23-40or friends.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe we are put here for a purpose, there is a higher power, and we need to face each day receiving and giving back. Life is a great journey. I feel that I have lived many lives in my decades here. I have learned so much and probably forgotten as much. As I get older, I stress less about almost everything and just enjoy the rollercoaster ride.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few surfers. I have taken a year off, but will be ready to host and surf from May on.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did a great deal in college, but nothing since. I'll update when I have some experiences.

Interests

I love anything on the water, kayak, sailing, boating. I enjoy cooking and love it when others enjoy it also. Live music is great, anything from classical, jazz, reggae, funk, blues, new age. I love exploring new places and meeting locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is my anchor. I listen to everything from Rachmaninoff Piano Concertos, Sting, Alicia Keys, Radiohead, many Jazz and Blues musicians, and sometimes even country and rap, however, not my first choice. As a musician - I am curious about what makes someone write what they do and what makes good music timeless.
I am an avid reader: just finished "Outlander" by Diane Gabaldon, "Musicophilia" by Dr. Oliver Saks, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" by Steig Larsson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kayaking on Johnston Strait off Vancouver Island, my friends and I spend hours out with many Orca Whales on what the guides called a Super Sunday. It was such a wonderful experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Come work on your music skills, or learn some. I run a camp for kids in the summer teaching music creativity. I can help you make up a song, record it and burn it to a CD. Come learn to cook something new, knit, garden. I could use a couch surfer who would want to do some handyman work, gardening, cooking.
