About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy my first long term adventure with my girlfriend. We hope to start cycle touring in Taiwan before heading back to cycle through Europe

ABOUT ME

My girlfriend and I left the UK 2 years ago for our open ended world adventure. After spending two years living in rural Western Australia we have now moved over to South East Asia and hope move progressively Northwards over the next year. Once we feel that we've really explored the area we hope to travel on the Trans-Siberian railway back to Europe through Mongolia and Russia. Our main aim is to cycle the Danube River back from Eastern Europe.

PHILOSOPHY

I would rather take a risk than miss an opportunity. You regret the things you didn't do more than those you did

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are currently unable to host due to travel however we try to attend local group events where possible and like to meet couchsurfing groups wherever we are in the world to swap stories, have a laugh and build our international couchsurfing network.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first started unofficially couchsurfing in New Zealand meeting people in bars and on the beaches hoping to find a room and some cool local people to hang out with. This led me to Couchsurfing.org and I had my first official surf in Byron Bay in 2009. The experience was amazing and I was hooked!

Before moving to Plymouth for university I was quite involved in the Bath CS group for a short period of time. Hanging out with like minded people and attending some really different and exciting events.

Interests

Travel, exploring new cultures, experiencing new things and getting out of my comfort zone.

Outside of this I have a passion for motorsport, I raced karts at university and back in England I owned a track car for the occasional weekend trackday.

We both love food; a huge part of travelling for us is getting to experience the smells and flavours of a new nation.

Music, Movies, and Books

I would have to say I am not much of a filmaholic despite being very interested in cinematography and editing. I will however sit down and watch anything. Sorrel loves movies and could spend days watching Disney!

Music-wise: I listen to a lot of blues and soul however through my job I end up surrounded by chart music. We are both quite detached from current music at the moment whilst on the road

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living as cowboys on a million acre cattle station. Raising koalas, joey Kangaroos and many other amazing animals in our house in Australia.

Exploring the lesser seen national parks of the USA by car together was an incredible experience

Watching the sunset from our camp in the sand dunes at Lucky Bay, Kalbarri

Teach, Learn, Share

We have so much to learn and I want to be taught. Tell us about your travels, your experiences, your job, your life story. We want to hear it.

We both love food and are happy to show you English/European food and learn about your local food culture.

I believe we have knowledge to share with you. We have travelled together to some great places and had some spectacular experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can cook, clean and help around the house. More importantly we can talk and share our experiences. That is what couchsurfing is all about!
