About Me

ABOUT ME

I have been travelling around/living abroad for 10 years and now I returned to Canada in 2018. I was based in Malaysia on and off for about 6 years. I am an easy-going, fun-loving, travel-crazy girl. I spent 2 years on a round the world journey. I have met some amazing people and had incredible experiences. Much of it was all thanks to Couch Surfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started out by hosting when I lived in Korea, then fell in love with the idea and started surfing myself. Then I've gone between doing both hosting and surfing, and now that I've settled in a place in Quebec, I can start hosting again!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had nothing but great experiences with couch surfing! I started out mostly hosting, mostly surfing, and some of my best friends have been made through couch surfing!

Interests

Anything natural, holistic, and healthy is something that I am interested in! I love doing Thai massage, I love sports (although not great at them) and really love music. I've also been a teacher for 10 years so I'm great with kids and love them (in small doses :))

Music, Movies, and Books

This is too difficult to answer...But how about favourites that were introduced to me while Couch Surfing:

Favourite Book: The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho (not sure...)

Favourite Movie: The 3 Idiots (India)

Favourite Music: Zee Avi (Malaysia)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

* Won a singing contest for foreigners singing Korean songs in Busan.
* Cycled the length of New Zealand to raise money for World Vision.
* Travelled around the world in 2 years, living in 6 countries, and visiting 7 others.
*Boating in the darkness through the jungles of Borneo, with the plankton sparkling in the waves, fireflies in the trees, and stars in the sky... Amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a teacher in many ways... I have taught English professionally for years, but I also teach massage, yoga, and loads of other things.

I want to learn anything and everything you might have to share! I love learning new recipes, healing therapies, languages, magic tricks, or anything!

Recently I have been off of CS because it seemed to have lost its magic, and just became about staying places for free. I don't want or need free accommodation, but I do prefer to connect with people as I travel. Let's see if we can bring back the sharing and connecting of couch surfing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am quite an experienced traveller, so I can give lots of tips and advice about many of the places I have been, especially Malaysia. I can also teach English, and a bit of massage techniques if anyone is interested :)
