About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel as much as I can and meet new people

ABOUT ME

I'm very curious and love to visit new places and learn new things. I love knowing the history of places, trying to at least get the basics of the local language, and experience great food. I'd rather stay in one place and get to know it than do the 'greatest hit's tour and only see the touristy landmarks. I love cooking and food and when I come home from a trip I'm always inspired to try and recreate my fave dishes. I'm easygoing and friendly and like meeting interesting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just started out but hopefully I'll have some couch requests soon so I can meet some fellow travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just went to Barcelona for 10 days and when I landed at the airport I didn't know a soul but I did have a few CS contacts that I hoped to meet up with. So I met with some people, checked out the city, went to multiple CS events and made some great new friends. Here's a little story that shows how amazing this site is - I was supposed to leave on Wednesday morning but missed my flight. I was REALLY depressed for about 15 minutes and then I realized that there were at least 10 people I now knew in Barcelona that I could call and hang out with. It was a really incredible introduction to the world of Couchsurfing and I'm looking forward to hosting and traveling as much as I can.

Interests

History, architecture, photography, gastronomy, dancing, hiking, music - mostly indie rock and electronic but pretty open to all types besides opera, country, and more than 3 hip hop songs in a row. Also, good coffee, spicy food, and random facts

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a family trip to Firenze (Florence) we stayed at a large apartment on one of the piazzas. There was a full kitchen and the dining room had a very long, very old table that sat about 12. I spent a wonderful afternoon at Il Mercato Centrale, buying vegetables, meats, and formaggi. Then cooked some delicious Tuscan dishes and had a dinner party for my family and some other friends who were in the city.
