About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit all the Protected Areas that I am covering for our project (work) and realize the Boarding House for Kids that I am planning for the islets (www.help-islets.blogspot.com).

And in addition, make sure that my hostel (www.treffpunkt5300.com) is running smoothly.

I am busy with all the projects which is the main reason I cannot really host at the moment. But if you think we are going to click, just send me a message. I might find time to meet up or even host you.

IMPORTANT NOTE

I won't be replying to your couch request if:
- it's not a CouchSurfing request;
- you just call me "hey there" (at least address me with my name even if you are sending a general request to all the hosts in the area);
- if you're profile is almost empty. Do find time to write at least something about yourself that can help your future host to get a glimpse of who you are; and
- if you are just staying the night to catch an early bus or flight to wherever. I would recommend you to stay somewhere else.

ABOUT ME

I am a MIXTURE of many different things. I love life so much and so much into enjoying it. Travelling is my cup of coffee (i am not much into tea). I always want to be in the outdoors. Some of my precious possessions are: backpack, hammock, sleeping bag, and my swiss knife. Meeting people and having a taste of the different dishes from different places interests me a lot.

I am also ABNORMAL as defined below:

ABNORMAL, adj. Not conforming to standard. In matters of thought and conduct, to be independent is to be abnormal, to be abnormal is to be detested... (Devil's Dictionary)

PHILOSOPHY

"There are two ways of becoming wise. One is to travel out into the world and to see as much as possible of God’s creation. The other is to put down roots in one spot and to study everything that happens there in as much detail as you can. The trouble is that it’s impossible to do both at the same time."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is the best thing that happened to me when I was living in Germany. I met some really good friends through this project.

I love hosting and helping fellow travelers while on the road. It is a great exchange of stories - culture, food, destinations, dreams, and almost anything under the sun.

Interests

I am into the outdoors... mountaineering, climbing, island-hopping, snorkeling, kayaking, or just sitting in the park and etcetera... as long as it is OUTSIDE!

I am into different handicrafts and arts... I love to collect junks! ;-) I love cooking and baking.

I appreciate old things and also love old buildings. I have always wanted to live in one. It is like a time-travel back.

Music, Movies, and Books

Feel good movies are the best for me. I also like watching documentary films and independent films. Horror films are not my type but psychological thrillers are. The same with books, I love reading psychological thrillers. However, the novels that I enjoy most are from Erich Segal esp. Love Story and Acts of Faith. Most memorable books for me are: Flowers for Algernon; Hope for the Flowers; 1984; The Animal Story; Tuesdays with Morrie; Night; A Beggar in Jerusalem; and Riddle of the Stars... and the list goes on because one by one I remember the title of the books I like. When it comes to music, I think I can ride on to most kinds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working with the kids from the small islands --- it is just a very fulfilling experience. It's a running personal project and I am very proud of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I do a lot of small things with recycling and upcycling. I am turning all milk and juice cartons I have into little wallets. And recently, my bottle cutter arrived. I'm making drinking glasses out of the bottles that I can't return to the stores. ;-)

Drop by the hostel and get tips on how to travel Palawan at low cost. I give 5% discount to all CouchSurfers with complete profiles. And do join the Beer and Grill Fridays. That's when we plan weekend adventures.
